Will Obama's poll bounce last?

Why the hell should this man get any credit at all? He spent years insulting and undermining the very policies that led to the information that ultimately led to Osama's death. Go back and listen to the comments he made. In no uncertain words he said America under Bush was torturing innocent people, and no useful information was being gathered.

This is vindication for the enhanced interrogation techniques that morons on the left screamed were the equivalent of midevil torture. He gave the order, something I truly believe any American president would have done, and now he should get the entire credit?? HELL NO.
The intel was obtained from detainees in Poland and Romania and those facilities were closed by Obama, therefore Bush had the same intel Obama had but was unable to get OBL.

So how do you spin Bush's failure and Obama's success with the exact same intel and military to work with??????

The name of the lead was obtained during Bush years. He didn't pop up until recently via a phone. Bush couldn't force the guy to be sloppy and use an unsecure phone, thats the kind of stuff you just have to wait out, and hope they make a mistake. Its not like Bush had the address of this compound. :cuckoo:

You just lost him by using common sense in what you posted. Good post.

Where's the job's why is food and fuel so expensive why isn't anything being done about the economy. Pretty sure this isn't what Obama had in mind.

What do you think.. are they right? Are people simply to busy trying to stay above water to care or is OBL yesterday's new's and people simply couldn't care less.

Or another possibility, perhaps the left is not nearly as warmongering as the right claims/believes?

LBJ??? Clinton???

I'm not an Obama supporter/voter, and my guess is it seems like he'll win as easily in 2012 as he did in 2008.

We all still remember how terrible the economy was during the Bush years when he had full republican power in house and senate, so it being terrible now isn't going to make people rush to republicans to save us.

We're becoming numb to it, the economy has been so awful for so long.

and it will remain piss poor for much longer too. Regradless of which party is in power.

Yep, a sad truth

Yes, Obama got Osama. And yes, that can't be anything but helpful to him in 2012. The big question is, how helpful?

George HW Bush got a huge bounce after liberating Kuwait from Saddam, but lost to Clinton on economic issues. And what's the topic of greatest concern to most voters today? Right, the economy. And let's not forget how Bush Jr. squandered his own approval ratings after their peak following the 9/11 attacks.

It doesn't hurt but in the end its what the economy is like during the next election. For some reason. I for one feel the President doesn't really effect the economy in a good way and can only get in its way. I think the Presidents job is to protect the nation which by catching Osama Bin Laden feels like a big plus mark but thats just how I think.

Depends on if Democrats can turn this into one of those brute-force Republican memes.

"Obama Got Osama" ....repeat until nauseated. "Obama Got Osama""Obama Got Osama""Obama Got Osama""Obama Got Osama""Obama Got Osama"

At least it'll replace "Blame Boooosh" and "Obama's a socialist!"

If he can't do something to get oil prices under control (below $80 per barrell at least) he has no chance. Fair or not.

Excuse me, which party controlled Congress from 2006 on? Hint, it wasn't the GOP.
People are not used to a bad economy. They are not used to being out of work. They are not used to paying north of $4 a gal for gas.
They are fed up with ineffective expensive political programs with rhetoric that blames anyone but where it needs to go.
No, Obama is toast. He is Jimmy Carter redux.
Are you better off now than you were 4 years ago?

Leweman's right: there's very little that any president can do to help the economy.

Then again, the GOP is so dysfunctional right now that it's going to be hard for any moderate candidate to get the nomination over someone on the far right. And nobody on the right has enough charisma to appeal to a broad base.

Ras and Gallup haven't done a poll yet for obama their last one started the 30 and concluded sunday.

looking at the most advantageous poll so far shows a huge jump, the poll is in conjunction with a newspaper etc...I am always leery of those, unless its ras, gallup, qunnipiac etc....

Anyway see the 56 favorable rating? great right? uhm..not so much, go read the poll. here is the big one...

I think romney has charisma. but he's the wrong religion for the GOP.

According to a Pew Research Center/Washington Post poll, conducted Monday, 56 percent of Americans approve of the job Obama is doing, while 38 percent disapprove. In the previous Pew survey, conducted in late March and early April, 47 percent of Americans approved of Obama, and 45 percent disapproved.

And a new CNN/Opinion Research Corporation poll, also conducted Monday, shows that 52 percent of Americans approve of Obama, while 43 percent disapprove
