It can, but without cheap illegal labour, the price will go up.
That depends on what foods you buy and how much you eat. The whole 'table salad' business was built on the availability of cheap immigrant labor, not consumer demand for lettuce. Prior to the 1950's table salads were virtually unknown.
 
Germany etc are already facing shortages of natural gas and we are using up our strategic oil reserves...just so Biden etc could say the price of gas went down. How about this winter and where will our supple of all energy be coming from?
More and more households are reinstating their coal fired fires in the UK. Everything in life boils down to price, to budget. Until wind turbines and EV's become affordable, coal/logs and diesel/petrol cars win by a country mile.
