If they manage to promote Takei's homosexuality and minimize FDR's criminal incarceration of Americans in concentration camps and rely on the ignorance of decades of union educated people who still think FDR was a hero it might work.

OK, if they can combine Star Trek with incarceration camps and get a gay coreographer it might work. Hell, Mel Brooks made a joke out of "springtime for Hitler" and they turned it into a hit. Why not "springtime for FDR"?
