Why would Putin want Trump as president?

imo, because Trump knows that the Cold War is over, while the vast majority of the Political Class A. does not, and B. stupidly want to treat Russia as a defeated power that can easily be pushed around.

Nope, there is something that is of great power and benefit to Russia and Putin that a hostile American president would make very difficult for Putin to pull off. Putin is nearly there now, and has exercised this power several times already and with an easing of restrictions by the USA, Putin will have the control he desires.

EVERYTHING that Putin wants to do, would be made more difficult by an American President living in the past, ie the Cold War.

That is covered in my bit about Trump knowing the COld War is over, and HIllary NOT knowing that.

WHATEVER specific issue you are thinking of, the same logic holds true for nearly EVERYTHING that Putin wants to do.

Putin yesterday: But I very much hope that common sense will prevail. This applies to relations between the United States and its allies, including in Europe. After all, it is the current outgoing administration that has involved many European political leaders in the US domestic political fight. Today's problems are the result of these activities.

I am sure that major mutual interests will set things right. Things will fall into place eventually. By the same token, I am sure, we will eventually be able to return to normal state-to-state relations in the interests of both the peoples of Europe and the peoples of Russia and the United States, which will contribute to advancing the global economy, stabilising the international situation and providing security.

Trump is a patriot and everything he'll do will be only for US (the country and the people) sake. If he wants to try to be a partner with Russia, that will be only as long as it benefits US, not Russia.

Too bad liberals don't understand that even they are going to live in a richer and safer country. However they've been taught to hate Russia more than to love their own country.

Remember a parable? God to a man: "I'll give you everything you want, but your neighbor will get twice more than yourself. So, make a wish". And the man said: "Pluck my eye out."

That’s exactly what liberals are doing now.

Putin knows Trump has a huge schoolgirl crush on him. For years, Trump was telling everyone who would listen that he had a personal relationship with the KGB thug.

"I have a girlfriend, but you can't meet her because she lives in Canada..."

Russia has stated they are pleased Trump wants to cut NATO loose, and that it would be a good thing for Russia if NATO and the EU collapsed.

Russia is also suffering from a crushing recession due to the price of oil being below $60 a barrel, and Putin knows his friend Donald will help change that. This was signaled by Trump appointing as our new SecState the CEO of Exxon, who also wants higher oil prices.

Putin also has imperialist designs, as indicated by his invasions of Georgia and the Ukraine. His fanboi Trump is going to remove the sanctions incurred by those wrongdoings.

And since Trump will help raise the price of oil, Putin will be able to renew his imperialist program.

Q: Do you have a relationship with Vladimir Putin? A conversational relationship, or anything that you feel you have sway or influence over his government?

TRUMP: I do have a relationship, and I can tell you that he's very interested in what we're doing here today.

Nope, there is something that Putin wants to control that will greatly strengthen his power over his neighbors and also Eastern Europe. He thinks he can get it by flattering Tramp's ego since Tramp has no understand of the geo-political power structure, and he is probably right, to the detriment of his neighbors and Eastern Europe. Putin has already used this power on his neighbors, but needs something extra to lord this power over Eastern Europe.

" The reason? Nobody in the freaking intelligence community ever suggested that "Putin wants Trump". The concept is a desperate invention of the radical left fed to their angry psychotic base to try to undermine the incoming administration.

Estonia, Lithuania, and Latvia handed to Puttin on a silver platter...

.

Why wouldn't Putin want Trump? Trump has already said he wants to get out of NATO, and if we leave, the organization will probably not survive. Russia would absolutely love it if we did that.

And then, there is the intense dislike Trump has for Obama, and has already said while president elect that he is going to get rid of a lot of things Obama has done, one of which is that he said he is considering lifting sanctions on Russia.

Oh yeah.................don't forget..................Russia is an ally of Iran and could supply them with weapons if sanctions are lifted.

Tramp is an amateur in global politics and Putin is a master. Tramp has no idea what Putin has up his sleeve, all Tramp sees is Putin's flattery

Trump understands the geo-political structure of Europe far better than any of those fools who think that A. the Cold War is still on, or B. that Russia can be pushed around like a defeated power.

Putin's neighbors, with Eastern Europe now being free, and with Russia's population crashing, are quite capable of easily deterring Russian if they are prepared to spend more than 2% of their economies on their military.

He CANNOT do worse than our "professionals" have done.

Putin wants more than just those, and I'll give a hint, the "platter" is not silver but another commodity.

It's true that Putin is a master, he certainly schooled Obama the last eight years.

Trump may be new to it, but he was new to politics and defeated Bush, Clinton, and Obama in one year. He'll put Putin in his place if he tests him.

That is the necessary key to Putin doing what he desires, but the question is, what does lifting sanctions free Putin to do that Tramp will most certainly allow?
