Why the Tea Party has so much power in the Republican Party

The tea party is a geriocratic movement without doubt.

No doubt more of the TPM is on social security than the OWS movements.

The TPM represents a fringe of the GOP.

a fringe with a Congressional caucus and elected officials that have neutered this adminstration and dem agenda thru the ballot box

You need to check your figures there Mr. propagandist... According to most political analysts the Tea Party won 5 of 10 Senate seats

Name the 6 Tea Party Senate candidates, both winners and losers, who have not already been named (i.e., other than Paul, Angle, Buck, and O'Donnell).

In 2010, Dems got their asses kicked by the Tea Party and it looks like 2012 will be another blow out.

Boo Fucking Hoo, Deany.

Here's a hint for the Dems: avoid Marxist candidates if you want to compete in the USA

So the Republican solution is to attract raving freaking lunatics?

Why the Tea Party has so much power in the Republican Party

Remember that the bulk of the TPM is in essence the Old Bush Base: social conservatives, Christian fundamentalists, and an amalgam of far-right extremists.

It was The Base McCain tried and failed to appeal to and ignite with the selection of Palin as VP candidate, The Base Limbaugh and Fox preach to, and The Base the current GOP candidates are attempting to appeal.

And when they let US down, WE stayed home as a protest and threw the election to the GOP in order to send the Dems a message.

Good plan.

How’s that working out so far…

r u referring to Angle (T-Party), Buck (T- Party), & O'Donnell (T-Party)? :eusa_eh:

:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

3....out of how many?

Four. The only other Tea Party nominee for the Senate was Rand Paul.

TP candidates can do better in A FEW House seats, where there is a sufficient concentration of non-fact-base wacko voters. But considering that only about 20% of the voters agree with the movement on the issues, the number of such seats in potential is quite small.

In statewide elections the chance of success is much smaller than in the House, and there is no chance whatever that a candidate acceptable to the Tea Party can win the White House.

There were 80 new Republican House members after the 2010 election. The TP was the highest profile agent of change during that election.

Wish we could catch Obama doing the thing on your avatar. Then we'd see if the media thought that was as serious as Cain's alleged booty patting 30 years ago:lol: Nah, they'd give him a pass.

lol, that is funny.
Fringe is protesting raising taxes instead of asking this out of CONTROL government to CUT Government spending so they don't bleed us TAXPAYERS to death?
Fringe is protesting imposing a SOCIALIST health care government run program when we can NOT AFFORD IT and don't want our freedoms of CHOICE of our own heathcare TAKEN AWAY?

The Tea Party’s influence on presidential ‘hopefuls’ doesn’t appear to be working all that well though. All it has produced so far is a group taking turns exercising various levels of buffoonery. That’s the 2012 main prize.

Write that down

Any mental midget can act pro American. The Tea Party is solid proof of that. Write that down.

"Tea Party supporters are likely to be older, white and male. Forty percent are age 55 and over, compared with 32 percent of all poll respondents; just 22 percent are under the age of 35, 79 percent are white, and 61 percent are men. Many are also Christian fundamentalists, with 44 percent identifying themselves as “born-again,” compared with 33 percent of all respondents."

Tea Party Demographics: White, Republican, Older Male with Money

Republican Young Guns Program

What do you call a 62-year-old Republican running for Congress?

This year? A “Young Gun.”

-------------------------------------

The Republican Party, for years, has been referred to as the party of "Old White Men".

This is why the Tea Party has so much power. They are the core of the Republican Party.

Ironic is the fact that over the next few years, they will probably rely on government more than any other group.

rdean hates the elderly, that is all.

What is Socialism? Is he the monster in tea baggers' closet at bedtime?

Sorry, I couldn't resist!

Some of you talk to others on here, as if they are spawns of satan, aliens, or as if they aren't real people.

It really is entertaining, and I hope that most of it is supposed to be funny. BECAUSE IT IS!

:lmao:

You keep riding that Spread the Wealth Horse into political irrelevancy. If you thought 2010 was bad for Dems 2012 should be even worse

Nice non-answer. And speaking of 2012, it's you that should be a little scared. Real people, like the ones in Wisconsin and Ohio, are sick of conservative crap. It's all gonna get flushed next year. Hell, the whoosing's already started. Then we'll send the Republican traveling circus home for four years. Get ready.
