This is the elephant in the room people try to ignore

"In the case of religious abuse, a person is often hounded by family and church members to return, and reminded in many ways that they are condemned otherwise. In essence, they are pressured to return to the perpetrator of their abuse. Their suffering is not seen. In fact, they are made pariahs when they do not return and this social rejection is an added layer of serious injury absent from other varieties of trauma."

Dr. Marlene Winell explains 8 areas of recovery from dogmatic, repressive religions such as Christian fundamentalism.

From the OP link;

Even in the general society, “atheist” connotes an amoral person who lives a meaningless life and is often pitied. In the U.S. there is serious discrimination; one cannot possibly hold public office, for example. Atheists are (or at least were in 2006) the least trusted minority in the U.S. to the extent that 47% of respondents said they would disapprove of their child’s wish to marry an atheist.

Then there are those who describe themselves as "recovering Catholics".

In essence there is a great deal of intolerance by theists of those who don't "conform" to their superstitions.

In a secular society we have freedom from religion. It is way past time that theists started respecting the rights of others to be free from religion.

Until that happens we will continue to have these problems.

If an atheist wants to be an atheist, let them a be an atheist, but why do atheist continually side with muslim nutjobs? Why do they attempt to spread their atheism as a religion? Do they only hate Christians?

Yacoub memorized the entire Qur'an at an early age, and learned about the study of Hadith. He studied the six canonical books of Sunni Islam with Moroccan scholar Muhammad Abu Khubza, in addition to studying with fellow Egyptian Abd al-Hamid Kishk. He then lived in Saudi Arabia from 1980 to 1985, studying with Saudi clerics Abd al-Aziz ibn Baz and Muhammad ibn al Uthaymeen.

Read about those 2 clerics, and read about the Salafi movement, which stems from SA.

At least they called an ambulance for her.

That kind of mental illness needs treatment. Unfortunately too many mental illnesses are not treated because of religion. The results can sometimes be fatal, unfortunately.

It's not invisible. It simply doesn't exist

Guilt isn't a bad thing any more than pain is a bad thing. It's a feature our body has to let us know something is wrong.

What "doesn't exist"?

Are you claiming that there is no such thing as RTS as defined in the OP?

True Christianity is not like this.

There are may false religions that are damaging to people....

Articles like this are too "broad brush"....

If you couldn't figure it out, explaining it won't work.
