No, it was always kind of creepy. So was prayer in schools. I had to put up with both growing up.

Kids were not brainwashed and we understood exactly what it meant. The kids in my generation were informed and lived through WWII and yes, the cowardly and children of Progressive Liberal Pukes protested the war in Vietnam and burnt the flag.

While the chidlren of Republicans.... well, let's look at that
Bush - Hid in the national guard, didn't even show up for drills.
Dan Quayle - Hid in the National Guard. At least he showed up for drills
Dick Cheney- Got College deferments
Donald Trump - Got college deferments
Rush Limabaugh - Got a medical deferrment for a cyst on his ass

What is the context? those Muslim women look like they are adults and choosing to pray of their own volition.

Those kids are being TOLD to pledge allegience to a flag. Maybe they don't want to. Maybe on of those kids is a Jehovah's Witness who don't bow to ANY flag. Maybe they are an atheist and don't beleive the nation is under a God.

I find it amsuing that the Libertarian Repubicans are all for the Pledge, which was originally composed (sans "Under God") by a socialist named Francis Bellamy.

Oh, yeah, here's how kids were originally supposed to salute the flag while saying the Pledge..
