It is not only those living in poverty that make bad decisions with their diet and physical activity levels. Many middle class and wealthy individuals do much the same.American nation suffers from obesity severely. I have some question to participants.
Why is the rate of obesity higher among the poor? Wouldn't you expect the opposite?
And what explains the differing rates of obesity among various races?
Also, the rate of obesity tends to be about the same for men and women, and this holds true when looking at individual races.
One strange thing, however, is that among African-americans, the rate of obesity is significantly higher among women. Why would this be?
A lot of poverty comes from bad decision making. One area where people can make bad decisions on a daily basis is in food and exercise.
IMO most Americans know little about the conditions of their food supply. Much of our food supply is not only lacking in nutrition, but is harmful to health. The numerous chemicals...herbicides, pesticides, fungicides, hormones, steroids, etc................add in our contaminated water supply containing harmful chemicals like chlorine and fluoride...and who knows what else......along with the harmful effects of sugar, high fructose corn syrup, GMO grains, etc....and you have a perfect storm of ill health across all income levels.
And our massive and expensive federal government is not only NOT protecting us, they have colluded with big corporations to in affect, poison us.
