We spend ~3.5 trillion annually when you combine personal expenditures, VA care, Medicare, and Medicaid. Not even adjusting for inflation, this is cheaper in the long run.
I'm deeply suspicious of any centralized government program. But if conservative lobbyists are going to dissuade the American public from single payer, they will have to do a better job on math.
Or keep defunding public schools.
