I think there are a handful of symbols that, by social agreement, are taboo. The swastika is one of them.

The flag of Nazi Germany is even more odious than the swastika itself.

Hyper-partisans refuse to acknowledge that when it comes to Jews, specifically, Nazi-like views are held by BOTH those who identify as right and those who identify as left, with the left being far more prevalent these days.
