Republicans talk like libertarians and govern like socialists.

Modern American "libertarianism" is indeed dominated by rightists seeking an exotic label, which should indicate the sham that "libertarianism" has become in the hands of capitalists and the costs of misappropriation of a once-proud label. The reference to socialism is entirely nonsensical; socialism necessitates the public ownership of the means of production.

I don't give a flying fuck what your authoritarian technocrat arguments are, especially when you haven't produced jack shit out in the real world.

I am an anarchist. Anarchism is firmly set in the libertarian tradition, which also disavows technocracy as a legitimate element of socialism, inasmuch as it conflicts with its participatory elements. Please try and make more accurate comment in the future.

A few weeks ago, you claimed you were one of those oxymoronic "libertarian socialists", even posting the chart form that dippy political compass site as "proof".

What I've found out is that you're a dope-dealing pederast, who makes up his ethics a he goes along.

On top of that, I know quite literally dozens of anarchists, and not a one of them is as arrogant or anywhere near the closet authoritarian aggressor that you are.

Please try not to lie so much about yourself in the future.

Anarchism is the dominant form of libertarian socialism that exists, and libertarian socialism encompasses a number of similar political philosophies, such as council communism, left communism, etc. "Libertarian socialism" is also not "oxymoronic" in nature; libertarianism was a term invented and used by anarcho-socialists and remains a rightful socialist term today despite its misappropriation. Capitalists can never be accurately described as libertarians because a political system wherein a tiny elite have control over vast resources such as the means of production is an authoritarian order and would rightfully be labeled such were it manifested through the vessel of a state.

What I've found out is that you're a dope-dealing pederast, who makes up his ethics a he goes along.

You're just making up asinine claims as you go along. Not only am I thoroughly heterosexual and thus not a pederast, I have maintained a consistent ethical philosophy of preference utilitarianism for some time now.

Not only have I not lied about myself on this forum, neither is there any element of my political philosophy that could be accurately described as "authoritarian aggression." Conversely, your own philosophy contains numerous elements of that sort, beginning with your unchecked support of wage labor.

Why do Republicans and connservatives hate France?

Ask yourself these questions

1)Who are our "OLDEST" allies
2) What did these allies do to help us
3)How does this jibe with Conservative Princples? You now the principles

I hear Lots of people brag about how we saved France, but rarely do you hear the same people thanking them France for aiding our revolution. I guess that was so long ago that it should be forgotten.

the "We saved France" rhetoric has come from France not appreciating us enough since Normandy. I know they appreciate the Normandy rescue, but haven't always been nice to us since, and I'm not just talking about the Iraq War.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but do the French hate American Tourists?

Parisiennes tend to be more arrogant. I have heard they will appreciate you more if you try to speak French.

Absolutely.

France is a more formal country than America, so if you address them formally and respectfully, and graciously apologize to them for not speaking French - and if you can do it in French all the better - they are as friendly as anyone in Europe.

That's not exclusive to the French.

When I'm on construction sites, I'll spit out some screwy malaprops is Spanish to the Latino guys, and it's a real rapport builder....You also find out that a lot of them know more English than they let on.

They hate the French for the same reason they hate Americans who won't take their shit.

Because both are potential threats to their pathetic attempts at world domination

Stupid thread. There is no proof that all republicans hate France. Even to ASSume such a thing, just as many democraps would have to hate France too.

Thread is an inflammatory assumption against republicans.

I've noticed that during arguments and debates here on USMB, whenever someone (typically a liberal) brings up France as an example, all of a sudden the conservatives start jumping out of the woodwork to criticize France and the liberal for ever bringing up such a repugnant nation as an example. What gives?

I've heard lots of nice things about France: great food, art, culture, Paris is supposed to be nice (Hitler loved Paris so much he didn't destroy it during the German retreat so it would only seem logical that Republicans would like Paris), beautiful scenery, everyone gets at least a month of vacation time a year, mother's who've just given birth get plenty of time off to be with their brand new child (and so does the father!) with government funded assistance and child care, their taxes aren't much more than ours but they get so much back in return (yeah, yeah, I know, they have 11% unemployment, but at least no one's starving), their murder rates are far far below ours, their immigration laws are just - if not more - strict than the US's, there are lots of Christians there, they gave us the Statue of Liberty, french fries, french-cut green beans, french fried onions (which with the green beans are ingredients in greenbean casserole, an American traditional favorite dish on Thanksgiving), bikini-waxing!, topless beaches, and an outrageous accent which makes for hours of entertainment if you're goofing off in the kitchen while making dinner or watching Monty Python. From everything I've read, as long as you aren't Algerian, you've got it pretty good there in France.

Hi. I corrected the first part of your statement in a PM, but you have so many errors in the rest of your post, I must do so publically.

As I said, Hitler ORDERED Paris to be burned to the ground.

France is a VERY racist state, as the riots in the bienevues, the endless car burnings, which are still occurring, you just don't see the awful media in the US cover it. Go ask a french arab how welcoming the french are when it comes to jobs. Your statement about Algerians would make them laugh at your ignorance.

Their economy is dreadful, there are huge numbers of young, highly educated french living abroad because the standard of living there sucks, the economy is anti-entrepreneurial as few new companies are started each year, taxes are FAR, FAR higher than in the US, etc.

Don't get me wrong, France has stunning women, incredible food, and gorgeous places to visit, but in many ways it is a train wreck, and may not survive as a Western Democracy for another 50 years...
