The Republican Party obviously never learned:

1. Do not nominate an old man.
2. Do not nominate a previous loser in a primary.
3. Do not nominate a person whose religion is not in line with that of Reverend Wright.
4. Do not nominate a person who has ever been successful in business.
5. Do not nominate a person that the media (excluding FNC) does not approve.
6. Do not nominate a person that is not endorsed by Jon Stewart and/or Steven Colbert.
7. Do not nominate any person whose substance outweighs his/her style.

GOP, learn to live and live to learn!

Recognize that the United States is an ineptocracy and nominate someone completely unqualified.

We've hit the tipping point at which the takers outnumber the producers.

The sooner the system crashes so we can reboot, the better.

The first 3 in your poll, says it all. Basically, the takers outnumbered the makers and they made it to the polls because Santa, with his sleigh, ran the perfect campaign by appearing on all the media that his base follows.

Huntsman couldn't get republicans to vote for him. There's no Huntsman "type" about it. If the actual Huntsman couldn't win the republican vote, a Huntsman type wouldn't either.

Huntsman didn't do well because the media didn't play him up like they did the rest of the field. They treated him like Paul pretty much.

At the end of the day if you don't get help from the media you're nobody.

Supplement to my post #21 about what the GOP needs to learn:

1. Get together in a room with closed doors and decide the next nominee. Those who ran before need not apply. Those who have made a laughing stock of themselves already need not apply. Those whose ego far outweighs their achievements need not apply.

2. Well, when that is resolved, restrict the number of presidential contenders in the primaries to two (2). After all, why waste time and money on bashing each other when that that time and money could be spent bashing Democrats.

3. For the remaining and valid two they should remember that the interests of the country are more important than their own personal interests or ambitions.

4. The eventual second place finisher remember NEVER, EVER run again, unless you are Abraham Lincoln.

doubled the debt
23 million jobless
gas price more than doubled

very basic reasons why no informed person would vote for him.

Thus

the media had to turn anything mitt said into a mountain to distract the libtards into voting for more stewpuditty

not that you are any liberal actually cares.

Except the debt hasn't "Doubled" and most of those 23 million unemployed lost their jobs before he took office.

Leaving Huntsman out of it, the kind of candidate who COULD have beaten Obama is one that connected on kitchen table issues.

The overall problem with the GOP today is that it has put the interest of the wealthy over the interests of working people.

And they way they've gotten working people to go along with the gag is to distract them with bullshit issues. Guns. Gays. Abortion. "War on Christmas". Playing on their racial, sexual and religions insecurities.

Except that shit didn't fly anymore. YOu have younger voters who simply accept the gay, and don't care about the religious stuff. And Romney couldn't put the religious bullshit up front because his own religion is so weird.

Well, let's review.

The Republicans ran on a position that made them look as if cutting Social Security, Medicare and other entitlements was the answer, but raising the top marginal rate was sacrilege.

Conservatives who high jacked the GOP talked about a difference between what they called 'legitimate rape' and all other rape. They said that God intended a pregnancy by rape. They called Sandra Fluke a slut. And then they were incredulous about a 'war on women'.

They called for harsh and draconian policies that would force someone to 'self deport'. And now they're wondering why they lost the Latino vote.

Conservatives cheered Chik-fil-A for taking an anti-homosexual stance. Now they're wondering how they can get the youth vote.

Romney ran a campaign based on his personality and qualifications. He signed Romneycare into law and then ran away from it. Romney never tempered his disdain for anyone who he has not met at his private club or while summering in the Hamptons. After the elections, he remained petulant and claimed Obama won by 'giving gifts' to voters. And yet the obvious post election analysis never sunk into his patrician head.

Tea Party folks came to Washington claiming 'no compromise' and then went about doing just that. Meanwhile, our credit rating fell because Washington seems unable to compromise. Congressional approval numbers started looking like batting averages for the Pittsburgh Pirates. And now the Tea Party is sitting in the ditch, picking the thorns from between their toes and wondering how it all went so wrong.

Republicans have an inexhaustible capacity for delusion.

Obama did not win. The Republican Party lost.

Obama is a total incompetent and he could have been chopped down easily.

But the GOP and its minions thought it better to spend their time focusing on bashing gays, immigrants, and Muslims instead.

Here is the GOP platform: "We won't be like THAT guy!"

Not one single specific idea put on the table.

Cowards.

Is it any wonder they lost?

I would vote for people blame the recession on Republicans AND Obama ran a better campaign.

It was a resonably close race percentage wise.

Yea Obama won, but it wasn't a landslide in the sense like everyone is saying, he got 10 million less votes than he did in 2008 I believe. Romney lost by 2.8 million in those swing states, and got 3 million less votes then McCain did in 2008. There are too many factors in an election to just pin the outcome on 1 reason. The main reason you could argue for here is that this was a turnout election, don't know how you could deny that statement, and Obama got his base to turn out obviously more than Romney.

Could it be that Obama is not the total incompetent you claim he is? Was the Obama campaign an effective one? Weren't the ideas Obama ran on the more popular ideas? If your side only sees Obama as an incompetent, do you think any valuable lessons could be learned? If a political campaign is run on 'no compromise', isn't that campaign simply stating that they have 100% of the truth? Has any campaign ever had 100% of the truth?

There's never any specific ideas on the table. What specific idea did Obama put on the table when he won in '08?
