They are dangerous to the life of the woman, they cost a fortune, they over populate the planet, etc.

Responsible people want the smallest number of children possible so that they can be given the best life possible.
When you have more children than that, it degrades the life of everyone.

The reason sex is so important is that our ancestry is that of prey, not predators.
We only recently became predators, and we have not yet learned to reduce our procreation down to that of predators.

But embryos clearly have no self awareness yet, and there is no reason at all not to kill them.
