Hours x Rate of Pay = paycheck

No business can just arbitrarily make the paycheck bigger on a whim. The business needs the Paycheck to stay the same. If Rate of Pay is increased, then Hours needs to decrease. Not rocket science....except to many DeathRATS!

Amazon finally caved to pressure for a company-wide $15 minimum wage in November. At Whole Foods, the difference looks to be made up in cuts to scheduled hours. According to reports by the Guardian, employees — who remained anonymous in fear of retaliation — have experienced “significant” decreases to their scheduled hours. In many cases, this negates or even supersedes the increased hourly rate.

Employees report a “30% reduction in hours per week for part-timers and about a 10% reduction for full-timers,” with one Illinois-based employee specifically saying that after the raise, his “hours went from 30 to 20 a week.”

......companies that make $$$$ lay off people..they are always thinking about more profit--higher profits every year
....it's like pulling teeth trying to get a tiny raise
..so they are not going to just give big raises without something else giving

What was their previous wage? Eight to ten dollars an hour? Fifteen an hour still makes non-work activities easier.

You can't explain economist and reality to democrats. Everyone that had half a mind knew what would happen. They tried to explain it but some refused to understand because it was too difficult.

It's because $15 an hour is only 7.50 an hour at 20 hours instead of 40. You see Dumbacrats a Company has a budget they must live within to be able to be profitable. If that means. 16 yr old Donnie Dumbass only gets 20 hours or loses his job because the employer can't afford it, then ok. Minimum wage was never meant to be a living wage. You earn a living wage through dedication and learning to be an asset to the Employer who pays you. That's why some employees make more. Top paid employees have a skill set the Company needs they are not just a body to throw money at! Get it! Probably not Demotwits are so important they deserve higher wages.

You will learn that arguing with people like Danny and the lot is like arguing with a fence post. They are incapable of learning and you will only drive yourself insane trying to teach them simple things.

Great. Now the employees have more hours a week for the second job they probably still need.

Were you meaning to post for higher minimum wage?
