Who should be sacrificed for the common good?

Since when does regulation keep people safe? Especially when the Federal Government is stepping in a State power.

are you kidding? Or have you never actually worked for a living? Do you think that OSHA and child labor laws have not saved 100's of thousands of lives?

Workers who work around unsafe conditions?

People who are exposed to carcinogens?

People with respiratory trouble?

I second the notion that you should off yourself for the good of this site.
You realize of course that the vast majority of regulation do nothing--absolutely nothing--to protect people. They are frequently written by lawyers who have no idea of the reality of the industry they are actually regulating.
In The Death of Common Sense the author draws a great example. EPA formulated regs to limit emissions in a gasoline plant. The companies complied and bought expensive equipment. At some point the company invited the regulators to the plant, which they had never seen. They pointed out the expensive equipment. Then they asked, would you like to see the loading dock? Sure. At the loading docj workers were pouring gasoline through hoses into trucks. The fumes were enormous. Of course this part was not regulated. So the regulators had companies spend huge amounts of money on equipment that did very little to address the problem but allowed a big problem to go completely unregulated.

But of course you don't recognize any of this. All of it is "for the children."

Anyone who thinks "job killing regulations" include worker safety and exposure to carcinogens needs to be sacrificed for the common good.

Sounds kind of like the millions of jobs saved claim.

Gotta love it.

Conservatives are all about deregulation..until one of their own family gets hurt.

Then they get all Liberal...

Liberals are about government regulation until one of their own family gets laid off. Do you really believe republicans want to deregulate safety standards wolfman? If you do you are dumber than you look.

Try asking a question without loading it so as to elicit a predetermined response.
BTW it is your side that passed Obamacare complete with "death panels"...Or as the dems try to soft peddle it with terms such as "end of life counseling"....this is what you lefties can do with your end of life counseling, death panels and idiotic archaic union work rules

Many repubs do want to do away with pesky safety regs.

Prove it. Or shut it.

If you think people should sacrifice for the common good, wouldnt a good place be to start with yourself?

And if you think that ending Unconstitutional regulations is going to hurt anyone but the corrupt, then you need to read more.

What exactly would you suggest?

Donating to the Red Cross?
Donating to the Habitat for Humanity?
Donating to New York Cares?
Donating to God's Love We Deliver?
Donating to Haitian Relief Fund?
Donating to the Katrina Relief Fund?

Done all that. And that ASPCA, Northshore Animal League and World Wildlife Fund.

Well, for starters, disabled people. Then the non-working seniors. After that, a random annual culling of 10% of the underclass.

They are just lazy, shiftless, non-producers. Like going shopping for 9/11. Easy peasy sacrifice.

Did you also donate to The Human Fund in the name of all of your colleagues for their Christmas present?

What is the Constitutional authority of the EPA to decide which forms of energy are taxed more than others?
Section 8. Clause 1. The Congress shall have Power to lay and collect Taxes, Duties, Imposts and Excises, to pay the Debts and provide for the common Defence and general Welfare of the United States; but all Duties, Imposts and Excises shall be uniform throughout the United States.

Congress must approve the tax, however Congress can approve a maximum tax and allow an agency discretion on the application as long as the tax is applied uniformly throughout the country. The same applies to fees charged by the government.

Failed premise. Nice attempt at an emotional blackmail however. I'd give it a 8.3. Might have been more effective if you had a crying baby in front of you when you posted that. Something to consider next time.

all that can be accomplished by rolling back all regulation and litigatory right to contest the practices of medical quackery. That WAS the ultimate goal of "tort reform" wasn't it?

perhaps i could have amped up the emotional blackmail factor by inventing a corporate death-panel*

*or just referenced Kaiser Permanente... which would amount to the same thing

When those goddamned states care more for the profits of the corperations than the safety of their Citizens. Of which West Virginia and Texas are fine examples.

Ah, why don't you post a crying Boehner in front of your post?
