When we judge certain characteristics today, we have to account for the nation and world changing. As America, and maybe the world, continues to become more liberal over time, former acts and so forth have to be judged in their own time-frame. At one time it was pretty daring and liberal to extend the vote to women or make people put aside savings for their old age, but now most of us accept those changes as pretty normal.
