President Obama ought to just nominate someone who isn't going to mind getting thrown under the bus for the President's failures.

Flournoy took herself out of consideration. She would have been a good choice.
Wth the stink of failure all over this administration no one wants this job for 2 years only. He will end up either promiting the current assistent secretary, not a bad move, or bring in some no name chosen on the basis of personal loyalty. Maybe Valerie Jarrett.

Hagel may be around longer than Hagel himself or the president wants.

Someone here read Kimberly Strasell's excellent article in the WSJ. Yes, this administration has a habit of blaming others for its own failures and trashing reputations. Who wants to work for that?

Obama wants someone that will keep pushing for gutting the military, pushing the liberal agenda of gays in the military and keeps their mouth shut.

Hagel did the first 2 but not the last one because he is a bonafide idiot.
