I'm claiming republicans are failing to pass legislation that reduces the need for gov dependency. Or else, the blue states would be receiving more fed money, right?
What legislation do you claim "blue" states pass to reduce federal spending?
Well... I think that there are many factors that go into it. In examining the economy under each party, we can see that on a national level, democratic presidents are better for economic growth. Dems produce more jobs, which redistributes more money, stimulates the consumer class, makes the world go round. I think that repub create legislation that benefits the big guy, at the expense of the little guy. America has learned that nothing "trickles down."

One of the biggest expenses when it comes to government "handouts" is Social Security. I don't consider that a handout since it's an earned benefit, but the article lists it. SS has it's own special fund that workers contribute to and it's not part of the general fund.

That means there are a lot of retired people in red states. And many may have chosen red states for their retirement because red states tend to be lower in crime.

Look up government stats on crime and compare with the Census Bureau breakdown of the population. Also, look at the party in charge of those highest crime areas. I did before and it shows that Dem controlled cities are the worst.

Try taking Social Security and Medicare off your list of entitlements and try again.

Unfortunately that article makes the same mistake that most americans make which is to assume that presidents create jobs and "run" the economy. For the most part that is nonsense, usually all the president can do is get out of the way.

Economic cycles are a bit more complex than the letter next to a presidents name.

Thing such as - the war on drugs/ stop and frisk. Laws like this disproportionately affect minorities. If minorities are being heavily targeted by the justice system (which they are) it disrupts education, careers, families, progress. The ability to work and vote.
Keeping down minimum wage- Makes it extremely hard for impoverished people to get ahead. People who are working minimum wage are more likely to be living check to check. How can they save when their bills cost more than their wages bring in? Living costs are quickly skyrocketing while our wages are slowly rising, this has been happening for over a half a century.

Republicans have no agenda to address poverty other than, "stop being poor." They simultaneously work against ANY legislation that could benefit the lower/middle class citizens.

You stupid Moon Bat. The division between worthless welfare queens and real America is not divided up among the states.

It is divided up between the big city shitheads and rual/heartland America. That is why when you see the election map you see it is mostly red with just pockets of blue.

For instance, Texas is a conservative state but will have a lot of welfare queens that vote for the filthy ass Democrats in the big city ghettos of Huston, Dallas, El Paso etc. Those are the assholes that drain the Federal money. Look at Georgia with its great concentration of Black Democrat voting welfare queens in Atlanta. Here in Florida they are in Miami, Tampa and Orlando.

You would know things like this if you weren't a Moon Bat who gets all your news from Comedy Central, Mother Jones and Rachael Maddow.

Economic cycles are a bit more complex than the letter next to a presidents name.
The president can create jobs, and each is judged by their numbers. The policies a president enacts will either have a negative or positive effect on employment rates and economy. Dems and repubs have different focal points. Dems tend to focus on overall growth while repubs focus on inflation rates. Dems focus on helping the worker while Repubs focus on helping to corporation. When the worker is choked, the consumer class is choked. Money will not flow.

No, some red states have predominantly blue cities.

Rachael Maddow or that idiot on the Daily Show hasn't told the Moon Bats that the Federal money that flows to the Red States are going to Democrat voting big cities like Atlanta and Houston so they wouldn't know that.

Well, I'm not a card carrying repub but I can point out some glaring problems with your take on things.

That the war on drugs is messed up, I'll agree with. That the war on drugs is aimed at minorities I won't. Usually the left will point to discrepancies between powder and crack cocaine sentencing, powder being considered predominantly a white drug and crack a black drug. What they fail to mention is the higher sentencing laws for crack were pushed for by mostly black politicians who were tired of seeing crack ravage their neighborhoods. In addition the sentencing for meth, considered predominantly a white issue, are nearly identical to crack.

Stop and frisk works. Look at New York under Guliani, massive drop in crime rates. I've read studies that say 85% of those stopped and frisked were non-white, 95% of felonies committed with a fire arm were by non-whites. Sounds like whites were over represented by stop and frisk. Years ago there was a suit against New Jersey for pulling over blacks on the turnpike in disproportionate numbers. 23% of those pulled over were black. The fed govt did a study to prove the bias, their conclusion? 25% of those speeding were black.

The whole narrative that minorities are targeted by law enforcement breaks down upon closer inspection. Did you know that the fed govt tracks confrontations between police and citizens? The numbers I saw covered more than a decade and every year their were slightly more confrontations between blacks and police than whites. And yet twice as many whites die. So statistically if you get into a confrontation with police you are twice as likely to die if you are white. Why were there more confrontations between blacks and police? Look up some crime statistics.

As far as the minimum wage, this is neither a race issue nor a panacea for poverty. $15/hr may make sense in San Francisco(not really but for arguments sake) it could also devastate Hog wallow, Tennessee. Higher minimum wages also tend to correlate to fewer jobs for youths. Let's face it you can't support a family of 4 flipping burgers at Burger King.

As far as the dems and minorities you may wish to broaden your reading list to include black conservatives like Larry Elders, Thomas Sowell or Jason Riley who refer to the democratic party as the "new plantation".
