How do you do white balance? I know that if it is wrong, then you get all kinds of false colors.

Do you first average out all the green, red, and blue of all the pixels? Or, do you average all the green separately from all the red, then separately all the blue? Then do you subtract these 3 averages from each pixel of their respective colors?

How does white balance work? Do you know a white balance Algorithm?

Thanks a lot to you all!

Good question about the equipment, I am not sure how he made these pics. I think I will follow your keywords on the net, maybe I will get clued in by them.

A general rule of thumb on both my Nikons is that white balance set to Auto will be good 99 percent of the time. Feel free to experiment, but always note that if your white balance is off a little Photo Shop can fix it easily.
