Which Way Turkey?

Forget NATO or the 'democracy' arguments. Deal with reality:

Scary stuff.
Turkey is number one on the list of countries that view America unfavorably: http://usmessageboard.com/showthread.php?t=49303. They are the "gold Medalists in Anti-Americanism:" http://memri.org/bin/articles.cgi?Page=archives&Area=sd&ID=SP87005. This matches well with increasing Islamification. Is it any wonder that France and Germany do not want 80 million Muslims in the EU? With the right to work anywhere and the ability to move easily across borders? The Turkish military does not want to see the advent of radical Islam in Turkey. In this way Turkey is somewhat analogous to Pakistan. In both countries, the general population is increasingly radicalized and the military is comparatively conservative. In Turkey, there is much at stake in the July 22 general elections. General direction could be determined on the following issues: whether to pursue EU membership, continued NATO membership, military hardware deals with America, nuclear proliferation spurred by Iran working to get the bomb, closer ties with Russia, military excursions into Iraq. If the Islamic elements win the general election, a military coup in Turkey is not a distant possibility.
