Oath Keepers, the military and police organization that was formed earlier this year and held its April muster on Lexington Green, may be a particularly worrisome example of the Patriot revival. Members vow to fulfill the oaths to the Constitution that they swore while in the military or law enforcement. "Our oath is to the Constitution, not to the politicians, and we will not obey unconstitutional (and thus illegal) and immoral orders," the group says. Oath Keepers lists 10 orders its members won't obey, including two that reference U.S. concentration camps.

This is the Oath:

1. We will NOT obey orders to disarm the American people.

2. We will NOT obey orders to conduct warrantless searches of the American people

3. We will NOT obey orders to detain American citizens as “unlawful enemy combatants” or to subject them to military tribunal.

4. We will NOT obey orders to impose martial law or a “state of emergency” on a state.

5. We will NOT obey orders to invade and subjugate any state that asserts its sovereignty.

6. We will NOT obey any order to blockade American cities, thus turning them into giant concentration camps.

7. We will NOT obey any order to force American citizens into any form of detention camps under any pretext.

8. We will NOT obey orders to assist or support the use of any foreign troops on U.S. soil against the American people to “keep the peace” or to “maintain control."

9. We will NOT obey any orders to confiscate the property of the American people, including food and other essential supplies.

10.We will NOT obey any orders which infringe on the right of the people to free speech, to peaceably assemble, and to petition their government for a redress of grievances.

Too bad #2 has been broken in the past, and as for #3....it would have made maintaining order in New Orleans difficult after Katrina.

And as for #10...let us remember that and support it in any protests in the future ala Kent State.

If an American citizen chooses to be an enemy combatant against the people of the United States then in my humble but accurate opinion they have ceded their rights and should be treated as such, so I technically disagree with #2
If I remember correctly #3 was locally instituted and not state wide, a distinct difference although under state law I believe the Governor has the right to declare marshal law statewide if the situation so requires.

That's not something liberals in power will be too happy with!

Can you cite an example of rule number two being broken?

As for number ten, the key word here is "peaceably".

And "a la" Pittsburgh G-20, where patriots chanting "USA! USA! USA!" and "Don't destroy our Constitution!" were blasted with sound waves, and then encircled and chased down with batons because they wanted to assemble in peaceful protest.

When our police forces label vocal patriotic Americans as unlawful demonstrators (or even domestic terrorists), our freedom to assemble and to speak has already been lost. Most people don't realize it because they haven't gone out in public and become vocal about the issues. Try that and you'll soon learn how free you truly are.

oathkeepers is a radical anti American group that i am willing to bet quite a few unknowing people have joined, plus the whole idea of this group is stupid, if you take an oath you should not have to join a group stating that you will live up to that oath as that is already implied by the taking of the oath in the first place.

this person is currently serving in the U.S. military? are those patches authorized for display on his uniform?

As some Military guys I know say "Just because I have the Special Trust and Confidence of the POTUS, does not mean that he has mine."

Their allegiance is the the Constitution, not the Government.

An oath to uphold the Constitution against unlawful order is anti=American.

except that is not why this group was formed, funny they didnt pop up when the patriot act was enacted but a black guy gets elected and boom, groups like this pop up.

How do you know that wasn't one of the initial driving factors that gave someone the idea to form the group?

Yes, I'm sure that's it.

I wasn't stating it was. I was simply asking a question based on Nooses presumption. Does he, you or I know that wasn't one of the formative issues?
