People seem to be more worried about the drugs problem than Syria. However the drugs problem is something that hasn't changed for a long time.

Inept government has led to a massive problem that no one will deal with. Some want massive jail terms, doesn't work. Others want to ignore it. Doesn't work. ~

Politicians are on the take, they don't care to do the jobs they're supposedly elected to do. The people don't have the balls to change the way they vote, so things stay the same.

I found these statistics very troubling when I started researching.

80% of the worlds opioid consumption is in the United States

11% of the United States Population, ages 12 and up are on one form or another of SSRI's (antidepressants).

75% of medical students today admit to using a stimulant, normally prescribed for ADHD, while going through medical training.

Those being treated with SSRI's (antidepressants) are 50% more likely to be convicted of a violent crime (that's JUST the conviction rate), then the rest of the population. If that statistic is correct, which I have not seen it disputed, 35,750,000 people in this country are 50% more likely to commit a crime, because they are on this drug, then the rest of the population. You can blame the mental illness, but here's another shocking statistic. The 11% represent on 33% of the total with these mental illnesses. The other 66% either do not take the drugs for one reason or another, or can't afford them. Of the none prescribed population, the number of violent crimes are nearly zero.

So you are correct that the user chooses to take the drugs, but look how young we are putting children on these drugs and ADHD meds, and it is no wonder they continue these addictions into adulthood. It was how they were raised!

I found these statistics very troubling when I started researching.

80% of the worlds opioid consumption is in the United States

11% of the United States Population, ages 12 and up are on one form or another of SSRI's (antidepressants).

75% of medical students today admit to using a stimulant, normally prescribed for ADHD, while going through medical training.

Those being treated with SSRI's (antidepressants) are 50% more likely to be convicted of a violent crime (that's JUST the conviction rate), then the rest of the population. If that statistic is correct, which I have not seen it disputed, 35,750,000 people in this country are 50% more likely to commit a crime, because they are on this drug, then the rest of the population. You can blame the mental illness, but here's another shocking statistic. The 11% represent on 33% of the total with these mental illnesses. The other 66% either do not take the drugs for one reason or another, or can't afford them. Of the none prescribed population, the number of violent crimes are nearly zero.

So you are correct that the user chooses to take the drugs, but look how young we are putting children on these drugs and ADHD meds, and it is no wonder they continue these addictions into adulthood. It was how they were raised!

The school wanted us to put my oldest daughter on those stupid drugs.

My Son came to live with us when he was in his early teens. His mother had put him on the ADHD medications, then couldn't handle him (but his grades were better!). He was not quite a monster, but was sure as hell heading that way. We found a physician who agreed to slowly ween him from them, took months, but the improvement was remarkable.

Thank God we found that M.D., not sure what would have happened to that young man had he either stayed on them or came off quickly.

I think the law is beyond stupid. Many people like me who work in the construction industry but those large drinks because we work at locations that don't offer any type of liquids and those big drinks keep people hydrated throughout the day without leaving the jobsites
