Yep.....the latest research into where actual criminals get their guns....

https://www.bjs.gov/content/pub/pdf/suficspi16.pdf

Gun show? .8%

But...but.....but...the gun show loophole?

Method, source, and process used to obtain the firearm Among prisoners who possessed a firearm when they committed the offense for which they were imprisoned and who reported the source from which they obtained it, the most common source (43%) was off-the-street or the underground market (table 5). Another 7% of state and 5% of federal prisoners stole the firearm, and 7% of state and 8% of federal prisoners reported that they obtained the firearm at the location of the crime.
-----

Among all prisoners who purchased or traded a firearm from a licensed firearm dealer at a retail source (8.2%), the majority reported that a background check was conducted (6.7%).

--------

About a quarter (26%) of state prisoners and about a fifth (21%) of federal prisoners obtained a firearm that they possessed during their offense from an individual in a non-retail setting, such as a friend or family member.

Something that all legal gun owners know but liberals don’t want to admit. It’s funny how many of the Democrats own guns but trying to ban legal citizens from owning them
Thanks for sharing 2aguy. Have a great weekend.

No...they got their guns illegally through a straw buyer...who purchased the guns legally....she could have gone to a gun store and achieved the same end since she could pass a background check .....so your pointing out the gun show isn't really relevant....

Robyn Anderson, a friend of Klebold and Harris, bought the shotguns and the Hi-Point 9mm Carbine at The Tanner Gun Show in December of 1998 from unlicensed sellers.

So they would have gotten their gun no matter if we had "Universal Background checks" or not.....the only reason that anti gun leadership wants universal background checks is so they can then demand universal gun registration...which they need to ban guns one model at a time, or, their wish list, whole categories of guns at atime....

In November or December of 1998, Anderson and both boys went to a store that sold firearms. Anderson purchased three of the guns for Eric and Dylan, who were both under aged and could not acquire them themselves.

So...your point about guns shows? Is meaningless...since Anderson could have purchased the guns at a regular gun store...since she could already pass a background check....

We only need on direction to attack, locking up people who use guns for crime for long periods of time...that takes care of 99% of our gun murder problem.....but the democrat party isn't doing that, they are letting violent, repeat gun offenders out of jail as fast as they can process the Bail paperwork.....you should look into that, rather than being a supporter of laws directed at law abiding gun owners.

We already have all the laws we need...what we actually need? We need to lock up gun criminals for long periods of time.....that is how you reduce gun crime, not by focusing on law abiding gun owners. What is the problem? The democrat party and their policy of letting violent, repeat, known gun offenders out of jail as fast as they can process their Bail paperwork...and then when they fight to get prison sentences for violent gun criminals reduced to less than 3 years......that is our actual problem....not John and Jane Q. Citizen owning and carrying guns for self defense.

If you would focus on the democrats and their policies....you would have actual points...

And ....so? They used her to buy the gun.......she could pass a background check...so you have no point about the gun show. They likely went to the gun show to get the guns cheaper than at a gun store...since she could buy the guns at a gun store, since she could pass a background check.....again, you have no point.

NICS was up and running in 1998, Columbine was in 1999........so they used her because she could pass a background check and was old enough to buy guns.......so again, you have no point about the gun show, since she could have walked into a regular gun store and purchased the guns...since, again, she was able to pass the Federal Background Checks in place at the time......so Universal Background Checks would not have stopped the Columbine shooting..since she went on to give the guns to minors, which was already against the law....

Well you and I know criminals obey the law as much as Progressives actually study the issue and use commonsense, which is never...
