When did Labor Day become politicized?

The holiday seems to have morphed into "Big" Labor Day, where only those laborers and employees who are dues paying members of Big Labor outfits are honored.

94% of the American work force are proudly Scab, and these folks- the vast majority- are being ignored, so it seems to me.

Encouraging Walmart Associates and other Scab groups to march under their company banners during Labor Day festivities, could help unite us as a country. This is the United states, not the Divided states.

If we are all one, let's SHOW we are all one.

It is a celebration of Unions which are political in nature, and only support Democrats. It is the socialists holiday.

Jealous? If not, you should be.

There was a time when the Grand Old Party was the Party of the Common Man.

Trouble is, that GOP hasn't existed since party leadership turned it into a voting whorehouse for Corporatists, soon after WWI.

Start sticking up the the Common Man, once again, and you might turn that around...

But you won't... in truth, you can't... because Corporate America owns the GOP now, not the remaining rank-and-file.

^^^ this fool thinks blue collar workers still support the Dem party after losing PA, MI, and WI :auiqs.jpg:

The sum of those three states was 50.29% to 49.71%, a winning margin of .59%.

That is a very narrow margin to be hanging your hat on.

Dream on. All those 2012 Obama voters who voted for 2016 Trump were common man blue collar workers.

All you can see is your nose in front of your face... nothing of long-term strategic thinking at work in what you write.

Ever heard of Reagan Democrats? That's exactly what happened in 2016... a wave of Reagan Trump Democrats...

A wave that will "flip" again at the first ghostly inkling of a viable Democratic leader who discards the Far Left aspects of the agenda.

The GOP has won the Working Man vote a handful of times in the past century, and they're never able to hand onto it.

Because the Working Man, being suckered into voting for you, always suffers a Refresher Lesson about whose side you're really on.

Put a solid middle-of-the-road Democrat at the top of the heap, and push aside the Leftists, and they'll abandon The Creature in a heartbeat.

Me, I'm talking long-term, in both historical and sustainable future contexts.

You, you're gorged on a single win under extraordinary circumstances that you're not going to be able to repeat in the foreseeable future.

You're a one-trick pony, you lack vision, and you're a lousy assessor of strategies and tactics necessary in order to retain political power.

My condolences.

Ahahaha you are in total denial. Okay lets talk long term. You people lost the House, then the Senate, then with the full support of the entire liberal media, a $1.2 billion dollar campaign war chest, a former first lady as your candidate, the support of most all still living previous presidents, your candidate's husband was a former president, with all those advantages you got your ass beat by an amateur who had never run for office before and it was blue collar workers who put Trump over the top. :auiqs.jpg:

Meanwhile 8 years of Obama's jobs killing policies, regulations, and suck ass trade deals had many blue collar workers wondering who's side you traitors were on. As I predicted as soon as blue collar workers had a viable alternative to the Dem party they bolted.

Oh, there's no doubt that the goddamned arrogant elitist foolhardy Democrats shot themselves in the foot in 2016.

Nolo contendere... no contest.

But what does any of that have to do with what the GOP needs to do in the long run in order to sustain their oh-so-temporary advantage?

Nothing.

You've got a tiger by the tail, and you don't even know it.

You fail to comprehend the long-term problems you face in retaining the Working Vote, so it is unfair of us to ask you to address them.

My apologies for over-straining your capacity for such engagement.

Fortunately for the Republic and its People, such complacency lends itself to the long-term checks-and-balances embedded within our system.

No, Dem's shot themselves in the foot from 2008 to 2016 then voters bitch slapped them. At every turn the Dem party chose some other horseshit priority over jobs while blue collar workers suffered. Now Dem's are paying the price for throwing blue collar workers under the bus. And since the same left wing leaders still control the Dem party nothing has changed.

After Dem's got their asses handed to them by Trump one of the local Ohio Dem party leaders was interviewed. He said he tried to warn the national Dem party leadership they were losing the support of blue collar workers but the left wing who controls the party ignored him.

Labor Day is a holiday for communists. Sorry ones at that.

Yes, because if you get compensated for providing a service to your employer, you are a communist.

The slavery days of yore were the real American capitalist experience.

Sadly, they’re gone.

The only slavery I know about is when the filthy ass government takes my money by force and then gives it to the welfare queens and illegal shitheads that did nothing to earn the money.

Democracy can be just as oppressive as any other form of government when the greedy welfare assholes find out they can use the government to steal on their behalf.

That is the slavery in this country.
