What's changed after Wisconsin?

others are waking up to some REAL hope and change for America....

all one has to do is compare WI to IL to get the picture...

Yep, those that love unions can pay the dues, everyone else should be able to opt out. Isnt it funny how liberals always have to rely on coersion, they cant get people to follow their policies without being threatened by the proverbial stick.

I have grown accustomed to bad coverage in our televised media, especially when it comes to reportage of "bad news" for liberal ideas. But the outright blackout over the fact that union members left when given the option, is so outrageous it rises to the level of censorship and corruption. This is an enormous story in relation to the WI recall election and to ignore it as news is blatant disloyalty to journalistic integrity.

Unions taking dues from non-union members?

That is not coercion--that is called THEFT!

Mr. Walker was not crushed. He was buoyed, winning by a solid seven points in a high-turnout race.

I think what has changed after wisconsin is that OTHER governors can feel more confident taking measures to reign in the out of control compensations of people who are in public unions and are therefore paid with tax dollars.

That is a definite and significant outcome- take heart you conservative minded politicians...take heart and look towards Walker's willingness to take action~

Exactly, don't force people into unions. This is america let people be free to CHOOSE if they want to be in a union or not regardless of the place of employment.

This is what I am talking about when I state that the media is ignoring an important outcome of the WI recall election! This is hugely significant.

Indiana as early as Wednesday could become the 23rd right-to-work state in the country, meaning non-union employees would not be required to pay union dues when working for a company that is unionized. Voters overwhelmingly agree with the intent of the new law, but most also don’t think a non-union worker should enjoy benefits negotiated by the union.

The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that just 15% of Likely U.S. Voters think workers who do not belong to a union should be required by law to pay union dues if the company they work for is unionized. Seventy-four percent (74%) disagree and say non-union workers should not be forced to pay dues in a closed union shop. Eleven percent (11%) are not sure.

money can buy elections.

You guys must be so proud

Sour grapes much~ To pretend democrats don't spend heavily in elections is as dishonest as the day is long.

Big Labor picked this fight and lost.

Yup. Not to mention the fact that Barry outspent McCain by millions.

Of course Truthsplatters doesn't see that as Barry "buying" the WH in 2008.

She's gotta be so proud.

per Pat Buchanan.....unions are now an albatross hanging around Obama's neck this November....

Even Democrats, though they howl that we must milk the rich more, are starting to concede that the government sector, now at a peacetime record 37 percent of the gross domestic product, must be pared back.

The salad days of the government employee are coming to an end, as they have already in Greece, Italy and Spain.

As Europe went farther down that “road to socialism” than did we, the pain there will be greater. But it is coming here, too.

Already, states and cities have begun cutting their labor force. And the states that were most indulgent in providing pay and benefits their taxpayers could not afford are the states being hit hardest, like Barack Obama’s Illinois and Jerry Brown’s California.

The anger and accusations of union leaders, directed at Gov. Walker, testify to their shocked awareness of the new political realities.

And Obama’s conspicuous absence from the battlefield — he sent a tweet and did a flyover — testifies to his recognition that while government unions may be his loyal political allies, they are also an albatross hanging around his neck this November.

Pat Buchanan: The bell tolls for the government unions

" Labor Pains: In Pew’s poll, 64 percent said labor unions are necessary to protect the working person (33 percent disagreed). In the next question, 57 percent thought they had too much power (37 percent disagreed).

This poll was done back in April. The poll shows the progression of answers to various questions. The union questions are on page 43.
