What Will The GOP Do When They Lose The House In 2014?

Just so. It will take Hispanic voters in Texas to Arizona to unlock the gerrymanders and give the House to the Dems by 2024 at the latest.

Obama and his band of criminals are destroying the democrat party day by day. It is very likely that the GOP will control both houses after the 2014 elections. The american people are fed up with lies and corruption and incompetence.

Redfish, we will not take the Senate from the Dems. We should control the House, even though Americans hate the Republican Party while still liking Obama. It could be worse.

Obama won 51% of the popular vote and Romney 47% in 2012.
Obama now has a 52% approval rating, 47% disapproval.

Daily Presidential Tracking Poll - Rasmussen Reports?

So very little has changed. In fact Obama if anything is a very very tiny bit more approved than he was in 2012, as last I checked, 52>51. So the idea that these so called "scandals" are ripping into his popularity isn't really supported by the numbers.

2014 is a year away, with the number of scandals being discovered about the obama regime, the nation might just vomit out democrats all at once.

And/or the Senate.

What will be their strategy then?

Off years usually indicate losses for the President's party. I don't see anything that precludes that pattern from continuing. But I also don't see major changes overall.

This. There is nothing but whishes making you think that the dems are going to take anything in 2014. Sorry to burst the bubble but it simply is not going to happen.

And replace them with democrat gerrymandering.

Or did you actually think that there is only one party doing the gerrymandering?

No matter what, those lines will ALWAYS be gerrymandered until we change the entire system of drawing the lines in the first place. Perhaps actually making so that politicians can only draw a district in a shape that they can actually name :D

OF COURSE by Democratic gerrymandering. I agree with your last paragraph. That is why the GOP must support the immigration reform bill, of it will be the minority party for decades to come.

Regardless of party, the people need a reasonable methodology of drawing Congressional Districts which is blind to political affiliation

Needless to say, neither party will ever agree to it

Non-partisan districting must be mandated by initiative, referendum, and or national amendment.

yep. gerrymandering and financing of incumbents has resulted in around 75% of House seats being "safe". The senate is prolly not much better. Something needs to be done. Until then, I will have little confidence in the gov't "working for the little guy"

Hopefully, the entire reactionary and racist wings will bug out.

Hopefully, the libertarians will stay and see if they can meld more generally into the GOP.

Unfortunately, it is unlikely to happen. Even if it does, unless Senate rules are changed to circumvent the filibuster, 40 people can hold the country hostage. If the House changed hands, about the only change would be that there wouldn't be endless useless Issa witch hunts. We would most likely have the same gridlock we have now unless by some miracle Dems got a supermajority. Even then, Dems have a lot of differing opinions and don't vote en bloc like Repugs.

The sixty-vote rule enhances the power of the individual senator.

The rule needs to end.

hopefully disappear ... or (maybe) stop hating women the elderly the poor and minorities.

and with Bauchman quitting the House does seem to have come into play.

Actually, her quitting makes her seat safer for the GOP.

The real problem is that right now, the House Seats are Gerrymandered in such way to protect as many GOP seats as possible. So a character like Sanford can get out there and win after resigning in disgrace.

Not if they get someone crazier than her.

Which is completely likely.

Yeah, but that doesn't look likely. Even the guy who was running against her declared Mission Accomplished and pulled the plug.
