What Liberals REALLY think about us Conservatives

Had George Bush used that 'enemies' line, he would still be crucified for it.
Obviously you are pretending to have missed this below which was posted earlier:

Government Targets American Bloggers As Enemy Propagandists

Military, Homeland Security, Bush White House strategy sharpen knives against anyone critical of the "war on terror"

Recent scientific polls that show around 84% don't believe the government's explanation behind 9/11 and others confirming the fact that support for the war in Iraq is at an all time low have led the Bush administration to sharpen their knives against the new breed of perceived "enemy propagandists," bloggers, journalists and online activists who dissent against the "war on terror."

The White House has made it perfectly clear that it will target American citizens for propagating information harmful to the interests of the U.S. government and classify them as enemy combatants. This is codified in sub-section 27 of section 950v. of the Military Commissions Act of 2006.
Bush's own strategy document for "winning the war on terror" identifies "conspiracy theorists," meaning anyone who exposes government corruption and lies about major domestic and world events, as "terrorists recruiters," and vows to eliminate their influence in society.
In a speech given Monday, Homeland Security director Michael Chertoff identified the web as a "terror training camp," through which "disaffected people living in the United States" are developing "radical ideologies and potentially violent skills."
Chertoff has pledged to dispatch Homeland Security agents to local police departments in order to aid in the apprehension of domestic terrorists who use the Internet as a political tool.

The Bush administration's media mouthpieces have also been mobilized to stereotype any kind of critical thinking as "giving aid and comfort to the enemy," a recent case in point beingFox News' Bill O'Reilly calling for the FBI to investigate the 9/11 Scholars organization for possible ties to terrorist organizations.

OH SNAP!!

Pwned again!!

Here's a pic of FF, trying to figure out how to ignore it again

Most Conservatives know Phil Gramm's style and he is one of the best to use humor and exaggeration for effect to make a point.

I'm afraid to ask, but maybe you could share some examples of Phil Gramm's comedy? Since he is "one of the best" I'm sure you have a long list of Funny Things Phil Gramm has said

Again I think you should review the concept of context and intent my friend.

But here are some of Gramm's more memorable lines. If you knew the man, and I do, you would also understand that his delivery was amazing when he was delivering a funny line even when he was deadly serious when he did it. There was much I didn't agree with Phil Gramm on, but he was/is an interesting character and he is funny when he wants to be:

“Half the world does not know the joys of wearing cotton underwear.”

“I have the most reliable friend you can have in American politics, and that is ready money.”

“I'd rather go to the dentist... but I'm going.”

“I'm carrying so much pork, I'm beginning to get trichinosis.”

“When the voter speaks, I listen, especially when the voter is saying someone else’s name.”

“If I bought groceries the way I buy health insurance, I'd eat a lot better - and so would my dog”

“The good news is that Congress has repealed the death tax, the bad news is the president says he's going to veto it, ... But the good news is Bill Clinton is not going to be president next year.”

Actually this looks like ubber progressive elites talking down on all Americans that won't vote the way they want.

That means they look down on conservatives, moderates, independants, TEA's. GOPers, Green party, liberatarians and yes, moderate liberals.

So you think striving for the American Dream or reaching one's full potential. . . .that those who seek wealth AND serve society by creating and/or improving or perfecting products, services, and otherwise contribute productively to the economy. . . .that those who think concern for the poor is best served by individual or local initiative and is poorly served by the Federal government. . . .you think those who hold that point of view are whiners and childish?

Can you provide a rationale for that?

Don't ascribe to me things I didn't say. And Goldberg is engaging in the usual large brush BS. The people addressed by Robinson, Alter et al are the whining tea party types and the politicians who are taking advantage of a tough economic situation Obama inherited. The actual statistics on much of this administration's work are positive, but you hardly hear that in corporate media. In the current mess, government action, was required and started by the republican administration - how often do you hear that. Notice the whining wasn't evident then, it was only after republicans lost. I watched the video MarcATL posted and when you watch it, you see the very people who are engaged in this complaining that the authors are addressing. Sorry but I think the critics are right and I do not think these whining people represent the best side of America, they see only one side - theirs.

The attempt to convert a capitalist society, our Constitutionally LIMITED Republic, into a socialist society and a socialist state did not happen overnight only upon the inauguration of President Obama.

But the Obama Administration with the active assistance of the obedient sheep we call the liberal Democrat Party (in the form of Nancy Pelousy and Dingy Harry Reid, and their ilk) have given full throat to that socialist agenda.

Should the American people who find this alarming have spoken-out sooner? You bet.

But they didn't. And what's past is gone.

The failure to attend to this dire problem in the past has no bearing on the issue of dealing with it now. Better late than never.

Since it didn't get properly attended to in the past, there is no better time than right now to start dealing with it. It has to be defeated.

Another bloviated rationalization for why the wingnuts sat on their asses for years and cheered while bush and the republicans socialized agriculture, the pharmceutical industry, airport security, the real estate industry and the banking industry.

After years of cheering on the massive spending by republicans drunk on power, the wingnuts have realized their complaints about spending are laughable, and so now they pretend that the socializing of this nation is somehow just beginning and it's upsetting to them because it may interfere with their SS checks

LOL......I see alot of debate about ideology on this thread..................

If the asshole known as sangha had the microscopic sense that God gave geese, he'd have noted that I rationalized nothing.

sangha, you are a blatant fraud, little feller.

That's the thing. I think Obama and the Democrats are running out of gas on this 'blame Bush' or 'blame the Republicans' litany. They've had two years now to accomplish something and most things are as bad or worse than when they took over.

So yeah, let's look at one or two things that have gone right and just ignore everything else. And just ignore those folks drowning at the sinking front of the boat and be glad that your end is still afloat.

And if....and that is IF.......the Republicans have the majority in Congress again come January, it will be because enough Americans realize that if the bow of the ship sinks in deep water, the stern will surely follow. And the Republicans will have two years to turn it around just as Obama and the Democrats have had two years.

The Republicans will have a small advantage in not being blamed if Obama vetoes what can be claimed as good legislation. But they damn well better sell the American public on that legislation and pass it or they'll be tossed in two years too.

You might want to read Liability's post again. He wasn't making excuses. In fact, he did just the opposite.

On another thread, a member is discussing the President's recent description of those who oppose his policies as 'the enemy'. Earlier today, my opposition to his policies was described as 'obnoxious'.

What do liberals really think about conservatives? Do you conservatives care? Does being described as an 'enemy of the state' or a 'child throwing a temper tantrum' or 'not grasping reality' make you more introspective or inspired to rethink your opinions or attitudes? How about being called names or described in other unflattering terms?

Discuss.

Bernard Goldberg?

Please.

No one will ever accuse him of relying (primarily) on anything as inconvenient as the facts.

He's never been the same, since he had to (actually) start competing with women & minorities , in his lil' world o' journalism.

Man Up, Bernie ol' boy!!

Well you know what? I trust Goldberg to stick to the facts a hell of lot more than I trust Media Matters. Or for that matter those who look to Media Matters for their facts.
