And yet....having watched the documentary on the attack on the Showtime series "Active Shooter," it is obvious that that is just what would have saved lives. The shooter told the court appointed psychiatrist that he wanted the shooting to be completely impersonal....so when he entered from the side exit, and through the smoke grenade, he had rows of people right in front of him....but that was too personal for him....he started shooting at people in the back of the theater. Had one or several people in the front rows had pistols, they could have shot at him, saving lives...

But your preferred outcome is for him to have been the only person with a gun in the gun free zone. You really don't have any idea what you are talking about, no idea how these attacks actually happen and how extremely important it would be to allow normal, good people to defend themselves. Considering that law abiding citizens, in exactly these situations have stopped killers with their guns, you are just wrong...in every way.

Realistically, a hundred round drum of 7.62 mm ammo will add so much weight that the rifle would be difficult to control.

I don't care for the 7.62 X 34 round in general. Too much mass with too little velocity.

What gun shoots that around? And you think a 100 round drum makes the gun difficult to control? Maybe you should watch this video:



A heavy gun is EASIER to control with recoil than a lighter one. I'm really thinking you have absolutely no idea what you're talking about.

An AK shoots a 7.62 x 39 round. I have no idea what a 7.62 x 34 round is.
