We should never forget that the broadcast networks have free access to the publicly owned airwaves - access that is an effective triopoly for them. They get it for free, which is an incredible giveaway.

They are licensed to operate in the public interest. They frequently cite their unprofitable news probrams as their public service.

It isn't public service if the biases of the producers and journalists is allowed to slant the news to the point that the truth is hidden when it does not fit a false agenda.
