What are you prepared to do?

If that is true, America was founded by traitors.
What did the Brits call them?

Slaves

The slaves did not have a choice

Let us suppose the slaves did have a choice and opted to stay under the heel of their captors (who sold them into slavery.) Those men and women would have become deluxe soup for the black counterparts who sold them in the first place. They might not be slaves, just soup for the opposing side of their warring brethren.
Soup?

Ever eaten beef soup? You're getting off topic, but soup man...

Cannibalism in the African Congo 1: Trading in Human Cattle

BINGO, which is exactly the reason we have a 2nd Amendment!

Thanks again for the support!

Why is it the second amendment not apply to slaves?
We don't own slaves anymore. Please keep up
Not quite true. \Without modern day negro slaves there would be no DEM party.
So whose best interest is it in the keep the negroes on the DEM plantation?
Slaves existed for 200 years before the Democratic Party was formed

You damn sure can't blame the Republicans for slavery. They were not formed until 1854. The Democrats had decades to get rid of slavery before the Republicans ever came along, but they didn't.

Slavery was an institution of the South. The North was against it

It is a North/South issue that Republicans are trying to make a Democrat/Republican issue

Whatever point you're trying to make is irrelevant. Before, during and after slavery, the Democrats wanted it. North, South - it was what the Dems stood for.

The reason that I believe your point is irrelevant is due to the fact that the North won the war, but there were enough votes after the 14th Amendment to keep racists in the Democrat fold well into the 1960s. It took more than people from the south.

You say it is a North - South issue; however, During the time the KKK was rebirthed atop Stone Mountain in Georgia, NORTHERN states were taking a stand. In the state of Indiana approximately 30 percent of all white men were members of the Ku Klux Klan..

The Golden Era of Indiana

I'll spare you the nitpicking of state by state facts. But, the reality is Democrats had the sole monopoly on slavery and racism until MLK got a bigger and better deal from the Democrats who have figured out how to use blacks to make America the New Socialist States of Amerika.

And, to get us back on point, it is the Dems trying to kill the First Amendment so that we cannot openly discuss the issue and it is the Dems that are working against the Second Amendment so that free Americans cannot defend themselves against a tyrannical government.

Your revisionist history does not cut it

Both slavery and Jim Crow segregation were North/South issues

Democrats in the north opposed it
Republicans in the south supported it

Carry on

I'm not revising history. Those are the facts. What, exactly, do you think is not honestly represented?

We've discussed the KKK in Indiana. How about Colorado?

When The KKK Ruled Colorado: Not So Long Ago

Do you think the Denver library lies? And yes, I saw that sentence, so let me quote it:

"The Ku Klux Klan had no presence in Colorado in 1920"

Of course, it didn't. The original organization had been disbanded in 1869.

Be that as it may, it has zilch to do with the subject at hand. It's giving you the opportunity to deflect instead of participating in the OPs question.

If you're on the left, the only thing you're prepared to do is participate in the dismantling of the Constitution... and that too is a separate issue.

i ask all of my brothers and sisters this famous question from The Untouchables:

“What are you prepared to do?

I have heard a lot of talk here and elsewhere from 2nd Amendment supporters like me. How theywont turn in their guns, how it will be the next Civil War if they try to take them, I see hats with Mulon Labe on them and I see Gadson Flags flying.

But what are you REALLY prepared to do when they come? You have jobs, you have a family, a mortgage, are you ready to become an outlaw?

I have given this a lot of real thought. I have personally decided that yes, I am prepared to be an outlaw. I have a mortgage, I have a family but they are all grown and on their own now. I have a job that I love but will put in jeopardy. But I am willing.

The key I think is to defy the laws and not get caught. To have my guns and everything else too. I am making plans to that end.

This guy WILL
NOT COMPLY, EVER.

What are YOU prepared to do?
What do you expect of gun control legislation? Consider that nothing NOTHING has been enacted except the non-renewal of the Asault Weapons Ban of the mid 1990s.

If you are this frightened, what does that do to the gun lover comeback of 'gun control is gunned up by emotion, not common sense'?

Every election cycle, the NRA runs fear filled ads claiming the Democrats are going to take your guns. Yet even when the Democrats held majority in 2008, no anti gun legislation was debated, let alone passed.

Nothing has been enacted? You aren’t paying attention.

Not frightened, standing up for my rights.

For the 1000th time, the left IS coming after our guns. Some of you are even honest enough to say it outright.
Please cite the federal legislation passed banning guns in the last twenty years.

Your stupidity and illiteracy is boring me. Please re-read my post S L O W L Y, maybe something will get through your thick skull.

Now you're trying to slide under the wire with that time frame and avoid that "Assault Weapons Ban" signed into law by Clinton.

But wait - it's coming to me... It's about 2010 or thereabouts. Obama bans American made M1 Garands from coming back into the U.S. from South Korea. Those are eight shot rifles sold by the government via the Dept. of Civilian Marksmanship to civilians. Bet you can't find a damn one those used in in a terrorist act or even a crime in the last twenty years (your time frame.)

Back to you
Korean rifle ban. That locks it in! Proof beyond reason that the Democrats will soon be knocking at your front door to take away your guns.

A Republican stronghold

It had Democrats in the U.S. Senate when the 14th Amendment was ratified and again when the KKK was rebirthed atop Stone Mountain. The rest of the time, yep it was a Republican stronghold. The Klan was active in lobbying for politicians back then.

Yep, anti gunners have tried everything: outlawing guns based on irrelevant features on firearms:

There was the Brady Bill to register firearms and the Lautenberg Amendment to create second class citizens based upon the most spurious of charges. At least ten states have outlawed magazines that hold over ten rounds, telling me people don't "need " them. B.S.:

What are YOU prepared to do?

When threads are in danger of being hijacked by the left and I'm interested in the topic, I like to repost the OP and start over.

The reality is, a friend and I were talking a just two weeks ago about the 1980s. In those days I owned a pen gun (it was a single shot .22 LR) weapon that fit in your pocket like a pen and the clip that held it in your shirt would pop down and become the trigger. Most of you have never seen a real one.

Others had AR15 rifles with a 12 gauge shotgun mounted underneath. How many of you have ever seen one? There was the Cobray MAC 10, the ppsh, and the shotguns made to look like the XM18. You won't see any of those guns any longer.

The Uzi, AK, and the SKS are all banned from import as well as the 8 shot Norinco .45 acp.

Some states have raised the age limit for buying weapons; the Lautenberg Amendment paved the way for ex post facto laws - and that will be finalized by the bump stock ban. There are always methods to criminalize people so that they cannot own weapons - and what are we doing? We'll do the same exact thing we're doing in Massachusetts - nada, zilch, nothing.

The door to door, search and seizure scenarios will not be nationwide. IF they happen, it will be after they have registered most of the weaponry in a local geographic area and then go into one town or the other. It will be done on an incremental basis.

The real answer to your question is this: What are YOU doing now? Did you realize that the NRA has supported most of the anti - gun laws on the books? And, unlike the civil rights protesters, pro-gun people are too lazy and scared to use passive resistance and civil disobedience. If 50,000 gun owners marched on Massachusetts this week-end that would impress me.

And the question is, What are YOU doing now about it? Burying your guns and allowing them to rot and rust? Making plans to tell Uncle Scam you lost your weapon or it sank in the river on your latest boat trip? For years I've been trying to find out what people were doing and what they could do. It's been mostly wasted effort since gun owners have become knee jerk reactionaries and only worry about the issue when it makes the front page headlines.

What am I prepared to do? Until you exhaust all of your non-violent legal and political avenues of redress; until you've submitted solutions to the legislators that will solve the problem without gun control; until you've left the Net and sit around a kitchen table with those of like mind, discussing this paragraph, face to face - then you will capitulate at some point.

The Clinton assault weapons ban was enacted in 1996 and then lapsed in 2004. But there has been absolutely no federal gun bans since 1996.

The 'cop killer' bullets debate was earlier than that.

The NRA has congress in its pocket. Even consensus gun laws like universal background checks has been left to rot on committee room floors.

The notion that democrats are coming to a home near you to take guns away is an emotional argument despite the dismissal of emotional arguments proffered by the gun lobby's talking points. Hypocrites and fear mongerers. And these are the people who want to have guns.

Dude, do you ever realize WHEN you're getting spanked? Did you just read my previous post?

In recent years, there have been no bans at the federal level? Do you think that pro-gunners are idiots? Since the Heller decision, most of the gun ban issue is at the STATE level. Take a look at what just happened in Massachusetts. And see my previous thread.

Be that as it may, I responded to your posts with the truth. Does that mean I'm going to let the Republicans off the hook? HELL NO. The most massive gun grab just took place in Massachusetts - and a Republican governor signed it into law.

The big ban today is on bump stocks and they are just a novelty item. Had that Paddock guy been using aimed fire instead of a bump stock, there would have been many more killed in Las Vegas.

What about the ban on semi auto imports?

How about bans on certain shotguns from being imported into the U.S.?

Didn't the BATFE go after certain ammunition within the last couple of years, but the push back was enormous? That is a ban. on guns as well since a weapon without bullets is a wall hanger or a boat anchor.

How about the ban on open bolt firearms?

Yep, anti gunners have tried everything: outlawing guns based on irrelevant features on firearms:

There was the Brady Bill to register firearms and the Lautenberg Amendment to create second class citizens based upon the most spurious of charges. At least ten states have outlawed magazines that hold over ten rounds, telling me people don't "need " them. B.S.:

Video shows woman shooting at invaders during Gwinnett home invasion

That happened my MY NEIGHBORHOOD.

THE GOVERNMENT IS TAKING WEAPONS INCREMENTALLY

The Clinton assault weapons ban was enacted in 1996 and then lapsed in 2004. But there has been absolutely no federal gun bans since 1996.

The 'cop killer' bullets debate was earlier than that.

The NRA has congress in its pocket. Even consensus gun laws like universal background checks has been left to rot on committee room floors.

The notion that democrats are coming to a ho,e near you to take guns away is an emotional argument despite the dismissal of emotional arguments proffered by the gun lobby's talking points. Hypocrites and fear, mongerers.

Gun control legislation on a state level. Isn't that the dream scenario of gun lovers? I am assuming that in all other things your point of view would be consistently Conservative. Therefore, limited federal government vis-a-vis gun legislation should be a welcomed thing. If state's rights can be used to justify every other Conservative talking, point, why does it not also apply to guns?

False assumption on your part. Conservatives and liberals are two sides of the same coin. I'm part constitutionalist and part Libertarian. Conservatives seem to find tyranny and oppression acceptable if it is managed by "conservative " Republicans.

I, on the other hand, believe in unalienable Rights. Unalienable Rights are those Rights that you are born with and are above the reach of government. Those basic Rights are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. The Right to keep and bear Arms is an extension of your Right to Life and Liberty. Those Rights predated the Constitution.

So, while I'm advocating for a position whereby gun violence can be radically reduced without gun control, neither the Ds nor the Rs, conservative or liberal, right or left are receptive to preserving our Rights as the founders intended. While the left is lying about what their ultimate goal is, or better, why they pursue that goal, I'm a one man show in maintaining and preserving unalienable Rights. Liberals have yet to articulate their end game.

Yes, he most assuredly did.
