Welfare queen wins nearly $200 million powerball - Is this right?

People on welfare should not be allowed to win a lottery.

They should be allowed to play the lottery but not to win it?
Look at it this way.

She bought that ticket with $2 that would have been yours had it not been taxed away to give to her.

A large percentage of the funds from the lottery are received from the poor and those on welfare.

Think she is going to share any winnings from the ticket you bought for her?

I bought only one lottery ticket in 1987 a few years after it began here in California and have not bought into that frenzy ever since.

Always wondered why rich people qith lots of dispoable income don't just buy millions of tickets at a time? Statistically that should work. :)

It is funny though when you see people in groups or individuals buying hundreds of tickets and not winning at all.......and then some person buys a quick pick on the way home from work and wins everything......fate is funny that way....

I assume the qucik or auto picks win from time to time to ensure someone does. If no one ever won lotteries wouldn't be very successful. Giving away a big jackpot once in a while isn't antithetical to the loterry companies' bottom line.

It is really the only way to get any revenue out of the 47%.

I have no problem with her winning . Gets her off the tax payers dime and now she has to pay her own taxes ..
Why, I can see the right to a certain number of lottery tickets a week becoming another entitlement.

This may turn into a great "social justice moment".

One of the good people at stormfront posted that some states do make lottery winners on welfare pay back the welfare they received over the years. That will still be a tiny fraction of what she won.

Why on earth would you spend time on stormfront....from what I hear is is a racist, lefty site......national socialist sympathizers...right?
You realize who you're talking to?

You missed the point. Us working whites give her welfare so she can take care of her kids. It's not meant for gambling. THINK

Article doesn't say she's black or on welfare but the video shows she's black and she's an unemployed mother of 4 kids so i figure.....People on welfare should not be allowed to win a lottery. That money is for the kids not for gambling. At the very least she should have to pay back the state the welfare money they've paid her.

Unemployed mom of 4 wins Powerball in North Carolina Money - Home

feb 13 2015
and the Powerball winner is ... an unemployed mother of four kids.

Marie Holmes, 26, of North Carolina is one of the three winners who picked the combination that won them the $564.1 million jackpot: 11-13-25-39-54-19.

"I thought I was going to have a heart attack when I seen the ticket," said Holmes, in an interview with local TV affiliate WECT. "My uncle actually sold me the winning ticket."

Holmes, who used to work at McDonald's and WalMart, said she no longer has to worry about providing for her son and three daughters.

I wish you could see how so very Communistic your post is, comrade.

But the truth is the lottery only works one way.
