Just watch that short video and see why Socrates was so cynical about democracy and how it ABSOLUTELY applies to today.

In his example, who would considered the candidates that represent the sweet shop owners and promises nothing but sugary treats to any and all who vote for them?

Who would represent the doctor that has you avoid the things that taste good and sugary cause it is very detrimental to you in the long run?

"The best argument against democracy is a 5 minute conversation with the average voter." Winston Churchill

I never knew that Socrates was one of the Founding Fathers..

We sure have moved a far way. Apparently if you were educated wealthy white male landowner, you could vote for the 64 Electors comprised from each of the States, and those States sent their Electors to a unanimous election of George Washington. Still again, a far way from Lord Protector Cromwell, and the new Religion's assertion, only "God is King".
