We just need to talk

We need to not demonize each other for who we voted for.

When we are given no good choices we need to not blame each other, but the system that exists to preserve itself.

No, we need to put the blame where it belongs........the media.

Who in their right mind would want snoops going back in your life 50 years to find trash on you and bring it to the public? Who in their right mind would want to drag their family into it which the media does?

The media and their viewers (readers) is why we can't get good people to run for office. If they can't find something, they will make it up.

Leave taking sides to your favorite sports teams, not as a way to divide our country.

There is no middle-ground here.

So where is the middle-ground between Communism and Constitutionalism? There is none, because you can't be a half Communist or a half Constitutionalist. You either believe in one or the other.

Welcome to USMB by the way.

I think there is more than two choices here. I don’t have to subscribe to any party line or direction or definition. I am wondering if what you refer to as Communism, I would refer to as Socialism. I would like more clarity there. I also have concern when people use the Constitution as the support for their position. It is too easy to apply a skewed meaning to support their position. When you bring the Constitution into the conversation it distracts from me understanding how all that is going on personally effects you. How has the current political climate personally effected your life for the worse?

Commie Care is at the top of the list. After it went into effect, my employer dropped our coverage. Many other employers did the same. Millions of us lost our insurance and many can't afford Commie Care because it was designed for lower income people (likely Democrat voters). Middle income people (likely Republican voters) are the ones who get screwed in all this.

Bureaucracies. I have medical problems that conflict with me passing my Department of Transportation physical to do my job as a truck driver. I need a physician to sign a medical waiver form that says in spite of my conditions, I'm still capable of doing my job safely. It wasn't a problem in the past because they allowed my doctor to sign the waiver. But three years ago, they changed it. Now they want me to go to a government doctor to have the waiver signed. The problem is the government doctor doesn't treat my condition, so the geniuses in the bureaucracies aren't smart enough to figure out that doctors have a difficult time okaying a person because of their medical problems they are not treating. Now, every year is nail biting for me because I only found one doctor out of the hundreds that were willing to do this for me, and he gives me a harder and harder time every year. The government is trying to put me out of work when I'm totally capable of working.

Six months before Obamacare I was diagnosed with lung cancer and did not have insurance because my employer did not offer it. I could not afford the $1K a month it would have cost me for minimal coverage. I was able to negotiate favorable costs and was able to get through it all without having to declare bankruptsy. The healthcare providers were more than understanding, and I belive they charged me closer to what it cost for what they did instead of the inflated costs that are negotiated with the insurance companies. I did not buy into all the crap politicians and the media was saying how it was going to turn out. I will also say that Obamacare was woefully inadequte for the follow up I needed after. I have no idea if what the Repulicans have been trying to do will help or not. I doubt that they have our best health outcome in mind. Sorry to hear about all the crap you have to put up with just so you can work. I guess the point I would like to make is I don’t think any politician is going to help you unless it helps him or her first. I agree that Reagan was right when he said government is the problem. I hope that the current admin fixes things so your problem goes away. I wouldn’t hold my breath.

If we stop letting politicians and partisan cable news frame our conversations, and honestly talk amonst ourselves we will learn that while we may have different ideas about how to fix the problems in our country we are more alike than different. We need to not demonize each other for who we voted for. When we are given no good choices we need to not blame each other, but the system that exists to preserve itself. Take the time to ask others questions so we can really understand each other. Don’t let Rachael Maddow or Rush Limbaugh tell us how or what to think. Don’t believe a politician has your best interest at heart even if they are from a party you may pin your hopes. Stop listening to politicians and watch what they do to know where they really stand. Leave taking sides to your favorite sports teams, not as a way to divide our country.
Whether it's romantic relationship, or a friendly relationship, or a business relationship, or a political relationship, or a family relationship -- once communication ends, that's it. It's over.

In real life, if no one chooses to submerge their ego long enough to be the adult in the room, don't expect improvement. Expect decay.
.

er... you need partners on the other side to be able to communicate. I'm pretty sure that ship sailed when McConnell stole our judge.

Fuck McConnell. Call me darlin. We can "communicate"

As long as racist affirmative action exists, I don’t need to talk to Democrats. They can eat a dick.

:cuckoo:
I am curious. If Democrats are responsible for your issue with affirmative action how will it ever get better if you won’t talk to them

I think you wanted to respond to AsianTrumpSupporter (which in and of itself is an absurd thing).

what I have learned is that I watched dems talking about "ohhhhh... we need to understand them".... "work with them"....

not a single trumper expressed any desire to communicate, even producing major legislation where they have support only in the teens but they're going to ram it down the throats of the rest of us.

the person you were responding to thinks white males are being treated mean.

Judge Judge Judge

See the problem yet? So what if he's an Asian that supports Trump.

Get off your condescending pedestal twit

Kum Ba Ya M'Lord
Kum Ba ya...
Kum Ba Ya M'Lord
Kum Ba Ya...

Anyone want a S'More?

End2party I rest my case.
You were no different than him when you judged Asian for being Asian and supporting Trump.

Unbelievable that you can' even see your hypocrisy and it's front & center for all to see.

Only a MORON judges all righties or lefties because of the responses or actions of a few of them. EVERYONE is an individual. The op expressed that but it apparently went over your head.

Noble as all hell...looks awesome "on paper", makes me all warm and fuzzy inside...BUT, the Left has completely lost their shit. No one with any amount of sanity, class or decency wants anything to do with anything they have to say....PERIOD!
When I say "the Left"...I'm talking about Liberals, Progressives and Democrats....all one and the same these days....all complete FILTH!
It's all out fucking war....no common ground to be shared...sorry bud.

Getting along is way overrated

Can we all agree that infrastructure to drive our cars from one part of the country to the other is good for all of us?

We have to find common ground.
Progressive taxing will solve nothing... the federal government has no credibility

I'm happy to hear you overcome your fatal disease.

It's difficult to get anything done with our system of government. It was a good idea at first because our founders thought that all American leaders would put the country before politics. As I pointed out, Obama Care had nothing to do with getting everybody insured at a reasonable price. Obama Care was about making as many new government dependents as possible because government dependents normally vote Democrat.

Whenever you mix politics with anything, it too becomes politics.

not a single trumper expressed any desire to communicate, even producing major legislation where they have support only in the teens but they're going to ram it down the throats of the rest of us.

Oh, you mean like Obama Care?

And to be fair democrats have been welcome to help cut taxes. The fact that they choose not to participate doesn't mean they weren't permitted input.

For Obamacare we weren't allowed any input.

Half or more of the country could not survive European socialism... it destroys any sort of freedom and individuality
