War On Christmas Deniers

Oh good grief. An overly sensitive individual wishes to halt songs about Jesus for the sake of a Jewish guest and you act as though the sky is falling. The right wing cries for the heads of the leftist people who make mistakes but when a right-winger makes a mistake an apology should be enough. The double standard is stunning. Anyway, you will find what you want to find and blow events out of proportion but, all things considered, there is no real war on Christmas. Here is something for you to chew on.

The right-wing crusade against the liberal "war on Christmas" is great for rallying the troops. Too bad the war doesn't exist.

Have you EVER once made an honest argument? Must've been on whatever other board you post on. Damned sure hasn't been on this one.

Dishonest idiots like you are EXACTLY the ones who deny events such as the Holocaust. There's a war by the SPs (that would be YOU and your ilk) against Christmas, it's as obvious as day, and pretending it doesn't exist just shows you for the dishonest, lying chump you are.

You're comparing your paranoid fantasy that there's a "war on Christmas" with the holocaust.

You really are sick. I hope you find help someday. I'll pray for you. (Bet that would REALLY piss you off).

Absurd that you choose to call what is right in front of your face if you but look "fantasy" for no other reason than your personal bias against Christianity/Christians.

Christianity is suffering the same discrimination that the white American male is. It can be offensive to everything but nothing can be offensive to it. It is the affirmative action target of religion because it's long history of being a majority, popular and powerful. In it's desire to make everything equal, the culture of communism/socialism attacks the majority and most powerful first. I guess the defense is that these insititutions just happened to be so large that they naturally just "got in the way" first?

Just whose politics are we talking about when we use the term " politically correct" ?

And the perfect example of their tactics is contained within this thread. Attack, then deny everythign while still holding the bloody knife. Part and parcel to the arrogance that goes with thinking one is so much brighter than everyone else -- not even bothering to hide the murder weapon while denying the murder.

I would like to add that there may not be a war on christmas but it sure seems to be a "lets cheapen and lessen the reason for the season". I mean come on every time someone is forced to:

1. Stop singing Christmas Carols
2. Take down a Christmas display
3. Not wish someone a Merry Christmas
4. Dont mention Christmas

The list can go on and on and on. What I am saying is that the US is not a place that does not allow for others to be offended. If you are offended by someone celebrating their holiday TOUGH SHIT This goes for Christians in this country as well.

If the people who are being PC (stupid in my oppinion) would step back and actually think about what they are doing they would realize they are useing the legal system (by threating law suites) to infringe upon the religious freedom granted by the US Constitution. That in and of its self should and is illegal..

But hey only Christians have to be tolerant of others and not the other way around. Why is there a double standard.

If I was to go to Long Island or West Palm Beach I would expect to see more Jewish decorations than Christian. If I was goint to go to Dtroit I would expect to see more Islamic decorations during Ramadan and Eid.

Am I offended and demand they respect my religion??? NO. I live and let live like most Christians in the US. we believe in freedom for all not just the whinny minorities that scream at the top of their lung "I'm offended take it down" If i said that about there displays I am an anti-semite, Islamophobe, or just a plain rascist. Why dont I have the right to be offended

For everyone who is offended by the "cramming down your throats of Christmas" I have one question when was the last time someone took you firmly by the head and forced you to look at a Christmas display. When were you forced to attend a Christmas pagant at school. I do believe that would be NEVER. No one forces anything on you. Remember Christmas is a big deal in the US so it will be displayed I dont ask that any country that is not predominately Christian shoud have to stop what they are practicing so I wont feel excluded if I did I think I would be told toget over it....

Look. In general, people will find what they are looking for when it comes to bias. People on the right side of the political spectrum will see most things as being to the left, even when those things are moderate. Likewise, those people standing on the left will see events as having a right-wing bias.

I can find examples of pro-Christian bias. I can find examples of anti-Christian bias. I can find examples where people try to silence Christians. I can find examples where people try to silence non-Christians.

If you think that there is a war against Christianity, then you are likely to find examples that support your already established bias. Examples of anti-Christian events easily pass through your “filter”. Similarly, if you think that the nation, in general, has a pro-Christian bias, then you will easily find examples of unfairness toward non-Christians.

In a nutshell, people readily find examples that support their bias while failing to notice those events that run counter to their belief system. They discount or ignore those things that don’t fit their idea of how things are. That is all that I’m trying to say with respect to this thread.

I know---but you're still wrong.

In my school we were regularly required to hear Christian prayers every morning. By the way, it was a public school.

Oh the inhumanity! To have to listen to Christians pray during Christmas

Next thing you know people will be handing out (gasp) Christmas cards and engage in other forms of dangerous activity

No. We began each day of the entire school year listening to a Christian prayer to the chagrin of non-Christians. I’m confident that if you had to sit through Islamic prayers to Allah, you would feel as though you were being treated unfairly.

Oh my God, the suffering you must have endured. I bet you are still seeing a shrnk to overcome the emotional distress you are still going thru

QUOTE=mattskramer;516778]As Rush Limbaugh would say, “I am equal time”. I’m merely presenting the other side.

Bullsiht--
a few seconds ago you were trying to present it as some "eye of the beholder issue"

I can find examples of pro-Christian bias. I can find examples of anti-Christian bias.

How many examples of matts making a dishonest argument can you find?

You ALWAYS present the "other side." If it's corrupt, perverted, dishonest, wrong or bad, you will champion the cause. They got a new icon just for YOU::eusa_liar:[/QUOTE

The other side of what?

Loony liberalism? He plays the role of the offended victim very well
