I'm gonna tell you pricks this one last time. I hired into the Oak Ridge Gaseous Diffusion Plant (ORGDP) in Oak Ridge, TN Oct. 1, 1952. The last 25 years I worked there I was the operations supervisor in the computing center which was one of the biggest and most complicated centers in the world at that time. I retired after 41 years with the company.

I live in a brick basement rancher on 1 1/2 acres of zoysia grass with a 220ft. lake frontage and an irrigation system which pumps water from the lake. We've been here 22 years next month. I have three children, two with masters degrees and the other one a contracts manager for the DOE in the largest storage facility for fissionable materials in the world....Y-12 in Oak Ridge. Sometimes I have to take my german shepherd for a boat ride but most of the time I do any goddam thing that turns me on:

I voted Republican for my first thirty years beginning with Dwight Eisenhower and ending after Reagan's first term. The party used to care for the middle class and helped take care of their needs. After Reagan slashed taxes for the rich to 50 year lows, continued to spend at an increasing rate and quadrupled the national debt I went twenty years and didn't even vote. I've only voted for a Democrat three times during my 81 years on the planet but one thing I swear to you......I'll never vote for another Republican in a national election if I live longer than Methuselah.

The modern Republican party has two items on their agenda......tax cuts for the wealthy and the military/industrial complex.

Yes....the old man Bush is a decent man. I think you've pretty well nailed the shortcomings of the party. They just seem to be wrapped too tight on their far right agenda to attract many intelligent middle class folks.
