They are cutting special education services, so that they can build bathrooms that supposedly boys and girls can safely use. This after at least two rapes in that district by the same boy dressed as a girl. We don't know how many more such rapes there have been since Loudoun County covers up rapes as its standard procedure.

LOUDOUN COUNTY, Va. (7news) — Over the last three weeks, Loudoun County special education teachers have persistently asked the Loudoun County School Board to hire more special education teachers, teaching assistants and speech-language pathologists (SLP).

“Language needs are increasing,” one educator said at a school board meeting.

“We are indeed not overstaffed but grossly understaffed,” another educator said at a school board meeting. “Do you all know that SLPs, we don't get subs? We take a sick day or a personal day, there's no one to cover for us.”

"SLP" means "speech Language Pathologist," also known as "speech teachers."

“Please do not exclude special education students in your plan for excellence,” another educator said at a school board meeting.

The call for additional special education investments and resources comes as Loudoun County Public Schools is allocating funding elsewhere, including $11 million for new bathroom designs at two high schools.

Instead, the school board is cutting three speech pathologists, one special education supervisor, three occupational therapists and fourteen teachers, according to an LCPS spokesperson. The LCPS spokesperson added that the school district is adding 13 teaching assistants, which would be a net decrease of eight positions.

"Teaching Assistants" means lightly educated and very low-paid people, who are to give instruction under the supervision of teachers (who are themselves giving instruction at the same time they are supposed to supervise the assistants). Some of them are awesome, even great educators who were not able to go to college at a young age, and now want a job that allows their schedule to match that of their own school-aged kids. But, they are in no way a substitute for a special education teacher or general education teacher with training in special education. Certainly thirteen assistants are no substitute for twenty-one special educators.

You get what you pay for, and Laudoun county wants to pay to virtue signal to the transgenderization of children movement.

“We are here to educate kids,” Loudoun County School Board member Tiffany Polifko said. “That’s what taxpayers are funding.”

“I simply cannot understand why we would justify funds to allow boys and girls to co-mingle in the bathroom and not consider the unintended consequences there while also turning our cheek and looking the other way,” Polifko said.

The Loudoun County School Board is considering floor-to-ceiling bathroom stalls with shared sink areas for all school bathrooms. This would be in place of all gender-separated bathrooms. LCPS is also considering building private bathrooms in schools, in addition to keeping gender-separated bathrooms to accommodate transgender and nonbinary students.

That last sentence makes no sense. How would gender seperated bathrooms accommodate transgender and nonbinary students? But that is probably what the wokesters on the schoolboard told the reporter. That's the Democratic Party gaslighting in action. Up is down, black is white, divisiveness is our strength, ignorance is bliss.

Are you lightly educated on this topic? You obviously cannot spell!

One of my teaching assistants in an inner city, all boys middle school, was a medical doctor from Columbia. The other was an aerospace engineer from Argentina. They both spoke Spanish and it was the only way for some students to communicate as they knew no English. They were both earning an income before their education credentials could be verified with their home country.

In my Florida high school, my teaching assistant asked me for help in passing the required teacher qualification tests, as she already had her degree in English.

Another of my teaching assistants left me mid-year as he took over as the county emergency medical and firefighting director for the county.

Out here in fly-over country, people would work at any job that gave them a paycheck until something else came along. The low pay was consistent with the low pay for teachers also. In my 21 year teaching career I made over $50K for 6 months, and it was 105 miles away from home.

All they need to do is have one single occupancy unisex bathroom to accommodate those who need it.

Single occupancy bathroom for a school? Do you have any idea how many kids use bathrooms in a school on any given day? Pandering to people too stupid to tell a male from a female is not worth the burst bladders of a bunch of kids. You woke wackos have no common sense.

They aren’t actually that uncommon and trans kids are VERY uncommon. You don’t like solutions that adress both sides?

A small number of single occupancy bathrooms in each school are the solution.

Even before the transgenderization of children fad, there were always kids who were not comfortable or did not feel safe in a public type bathroom that they and their peers go into away from adult supervision. There are plenty of adults who prefer to use the “family” bathroom, so they can have privacy. Nothing to do with being deluded about what sex they are. Some people don’t like to poop and pee in front of strangers.

Just don’t spend millions of funds intended for special ed kids on making all bathrooms ”gender neutral.” In fact, don’t spend a penny on that, because it is a really horrible idea that will make all kids more vulnerable to bullying, and to attacks.
