Violent criminal jailed for possessing 3D printed gun, and political hit list.

Our screwball buddy couldn’t pass a background check so he got his hands on a 3D gun instead. Not to mention his little hitlist if politicians he wanted to take out .

Is this what the pro gun crowd fights for ?

Doesn't this prove that gun control does not work? Make a law and they will find a way to get around it.

It did work . He failed the background check .

Still he found a way around it!

Either straw purchase to making your own a criminal will find ways around it, so how do you stop it?

You could register guns and have the title move from buyer to buyer . That would take out a whole lot of straw purchases.

Should we get rid of all the gun laws?

Good idea. I'd support that.
Brilliant. You think this kid had his rights infringed upon?
Kindergarten student found with gun at Pittsburgh Faison K-5

Since when am I responsible for the stupidity of some parents?
It was another poster that said we should get rid of all gun laws thereby making it legal for the kindergarten kid to bring a loaded gun to school. You`re not keeping up here.

Registration is a non starter. No gun owner wants the government to know he owns guns.

So ? It doesn’t interfere with your rights and the state has a legit concern over illegal gun sales .

Kinda like build a wall and they will find a way around it. I guess you are suggesting neither are even worth doing, right?

Nice try but the person doing the straw purchase is already breaking the law.

So there is no cure to this issue and all your solutions are for future confiscation of firearms...

The guns used by criminals can be traced back to the straw buyer . Which doesn’t happen now .

Should we ban 3D printers? Require all 3D printers be registered? Require a background check to buy a 3D printer? Make it illegal to sell or give away a 3D printer, even as a gift, except to a government licensed F3DPL (Federal 3D Printer License) holder? Creating a virtual monopoly on 3D printers...because a few irresponsible people will use them to break the law? And those people are going to find a way to break the law anyway...they'll just steal the 3D printer, or buy one that was stolen on the black market...which make THOSE criminals bolder by making the crimes more lucrative.

In many South American countries, criminals KILL police officers and armed security guards JUST to steal their guns.

So sure, millions of people use 3D printers legally, but this guy did something illegal, so obviously the public cannot be trusted with 3D printers, because of this one guy who did something illegal.

Sounds ludicrous doesn't it. That's because it is...no matter what noun you replace 3D printers with...it is ludicrous to punish millions for the actions of a minuscule minority.

Of course it interferes with my right to own a gun. Many places already have placed restrictions on firearms where you have to sell them or turn them in. If they are registered, they can come and get them.

Besides, registration doesn't work, as Canada found out.

I NEVER said anyone was proposing a ban on self defense.
Right, because you know that sounds stupid. So, instead, you ask the moronic question that you knew was moronic, which was answered anyway, and then tap danced like a little weenie instead of answering the follow up posed to you.

Wrong.

Laws that require firearms to be registered are perfectly Constitutional, the right to possess a gun is in no manner ‘interfered’ with.

And the notion that registration will result in ‘confiscation’ is fails as a slippery slope fallacy, as ridiculous as it is wrong.
