“As far as I can tell, no Sackler will have to sell a boat, or a car or a piece of art,” Connecticut’s attorney general says of a settlement plan that would allow the owners of Purdue Pharma to forfeit ownership of the company and not be sued for their role in the opioid epidemic

The Sackler family, owners of Purdue pharma that made Oxycontin, donated generously to Connecticut Democrats including "Da Nang Dick" Richard Blumenthal, Jim Himes, and human moth hybrid Dan Malloy.

"Tong said Connecticut will receive approximately $95 million from the settlement, which will be used to fund opioid treatment and prevention. The agreement authorizes Connecticut to use a portion of the settlement funds to establish an Opioid Survivors Trust to directly aid survivors and victims of the opioid epidemic."

Translation - The money will go into our general fund where we'll blow it on what ever pet projects we want, just like we did with the tobacco settlement money in the 90s.
