Verizon's move to close call centers should come as no shock

Today Verizon ( Ticker VZW) announced that seven call centers mainly in the northeast will be closed. The company will open new centers in South Carolina, Texas and other states.
Verizon calls is a reallocation of real estate assets.
This looks as though Verizon is equalizing the costs the company incurred with the new union deal recently ratified.
This move should not surprise anyone.
Labor costs sent to new heights make doing business more expensive. Inevitably, business will find a way to reduce those costs or pass them along to the consumer.
Verizon chose the former.
