USTA Sexism and Hypocrisy
On the US Open Tennis Tournament television broadcast, USTA proudly boasted of being the first tournament to award women equal purses with the men, citing "equality." The sexism was proudly advertised on the main court floor.
This is absurd ! Karsten Braasch, ranked 203 in the world, beat Serena and Venus Williams on the same day at the 1998 Australian Open Tournament.
Secondly, men have to play best of five sets, while women play best of three. Straight sets for men requires them playing 50% more sets than the women. Best of five requires men playing 66% more sets than the women. That's far from equality. "Equal pay" for less effort, of far lower quality.
Mirra Andreeva and Bernarda Pera had the fastest serve in women’s category at 124 mph.
Ben Shelton served 149 mph twice in one game.
How on earth can USTA be so proud of its discriminatory sexism? By kowtowing to shrill women, such as Billie Jean King, that’s how. Grossly "equal pay" for decidedly unequal work, ability, and effort.
Now for USTA’s boast as to "climate action."
The USTA website reads:
"In 2019, the US Open became one of the first major North American organizations to sign the United Nations Sports for Climate Action Framework, joining a group of international sports properties that have committed to drive climate awareness and action."
This is nothing more than misplaced environmental sanctimoniousness.
Hundreds of players and their families and coaches fly from around the world to play at the US Open, burning tens of thousands of gallons of that horrible "fossil fuel."
Tens of thousands of tennis fans fly and drive from around the U.S., burning hundreds of thousands of gallons of deadly "fossil fuel."
This isn’t “awareness and action.” It’s outrageous hypocrisy and kowtowing to the shrill climate change cult.
The only thing US Open Tennis is "committed" to is making money by hypocrisy and virtue posturing.
USTA has genuflected to militant feminists to avoid the dreaded pejoratives of “sexism,” “chauvinism,” and “male privilege.”
Decades later, USTA joined the Climate Change Cult.
“Sustainability” means living like they do in Cuba, the only country on earth classified as “sustainable.”
Fourteen U.S. cities have already signed on to ban, in 2030, ownership or use of autos, ban purchase of meat, fish, poultry, or dairy products, and ban purchase of more than three articles of clothing per year. Details may be found in the link below.
