When stationed overseas we had a local Army AFRS announcer that didn't like marines for some reason. He used to report the time as: "the time is 1600 hrs, for you in the Navy, the time is 8 bells and for you Marines, the little hand is on 4 and the big hand is on 12. I never understood why the didn't discipline him.
