WASHINGTON,— Kurdish forces remain in control of most of the border town of Kobani in Syrian Kurdistan and Islamic State IS jihadists have been unable to advance in the past several days, a US military spokesman said Tuesday.

The situation was still "tenuous" but for the moment, Kurdish forces were holding their ground and US air strikes had slowed the momentum of the IS group, Rear Admiral John Kirby told reporters.

"The situation in Kobani still remains tenuous. We do assess that Kurdish forces in the city are in control of the majority of the city," Kirby said.

"That said, ISIL (Islamic State group) forces continue to threaten it" and still had fighters in "some strength" in parts of the town, he said.

The free and brave Kurds are the only force that can fight the ISIS Sunni animals and deal a fatal blow to them. All the US and West need to do is arm them, and give them air support. They will do the rest.

They should be able to fight ISIS but in general they are one of the three main factions in Syria that try to create a state on someone else´s ground. If someone wants to grant them an own state he must give his land to them.
