US Generals Lied, Lost Wars, And Looted Those They Claimed To Serve

Generals also apparently don't work very hard to stop them. As a matter of fact, they work very hard to keep them going.

In the case of the Iraq invasion the military brass opposed it because we had insufficient troop strength for an occupation.

Rigby5 lot's of politics involved...lot's of people don't think realistically .....wars/getting into wars are not like making a cheese sandwich--they are complicated
..we should not have gotten into Vietnam--but we thought we were helping....it wasn't like hitler or saddam .....
..we DEFINITELY needed to go into Afghanistan .....and looking at history, we needed to go into Iraq--it was the right thing to do

Great...what have you done for me in the last 20 years? Different generation of generals too...don't for get that.

Iraq was crippled by two decades of war and sanctions before we invaded and no threat to the US or Iraq's neighbors.

Bibi wanted the US to take Saddam out. See Clean Break Strategy.

We had Saddam over a barrel. He needed repairs and updates for his reserves by an oil services company and begged the US to permit it before those reserves were ruined forever.

Damn stupid error upon blunder with enough blowback to last yet another 20 years.

But that is the rub...YOU think it is for your country...but THEY know it is for the pockets of wealthy business interests, and political theater.

One way to determine if your efforts were for naught.

Ask yourself this.

"If we never invaded/fought country X, would it have directly affected my freedom?"

Afghan? Iraq? Vietnam? Korea?

I can only think of one foreign war where we can reasonably answer yes.

World War 2.

War is a scam for bankers and oligarchs to secure assets, and wealth.

You, and I, are no different than a mechanic accessing a hand tool in his repair of an object.

The military are just a tool to project power once diplomacy (bargaining) has failed, or was never tried.

They tried to stop Dubya from invading Iraq.
Once AGAIN...the generals that STARTED the wars in 2001 are a completely DIFFERENT generation of generals than those whos resisted their end in 2021.

2021-2001=20 Years...That is an entire military career for most.

Generals didn't start the war in 2001. Bush was determined to have a gas pipeline from the Stans across Afghanistan to India. He wasn't bothered with OBL.. The Taliban offered to turn him over three times.

We screwed up and you want to demonize the Taliban and blame them .

CoComs-->JCS-->CJCS-->SECDEF-->POTUS

Yes, generals do not start wars, civilians do. However, civilians do not start them without the backing of their generals.

As for Bush and pipelines that is dipping off into areas where we have little concrete.

Bush did nothing that he was not directed to.

Bush was very close to ENRON and they contributed heavily to his Campaigns.. Who are you trying to blame in your defense of Bush?

Ok, well find me one quote from Bush talking about a desire to build an oil pipeline through Afghanistan and we can talk.

Oh, and lots of companies give to lots of politicians. Tying a specific act to a specific donor is pretty hard unless there is documentation.

So "close to Enron" that Bush did nothing to even attempt to save the company.
