The prohibition of starvation as a method of warfare is codified in Article 54 of Additional Protocol I.
Under the Statute of the International Criminal Court, “intentionally using starvation of civilians as a method of warfare” is considered a war crime in international armed conflicts.

This prohibition is also contained in Additional Protocol II, which pertains to non-international armed conflicts. Starvation of civilians as a method of warfare constitutes a war crime in any armed conflict under the legislation of several States.

Imminent famine in northern Gaza is ‘entirely man-made disaster’:

According to a recent report from the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), an imminent famine is threatening the northern governorates of Gaza. The situation is dire, with the highest number of people facing catastrophic hunger ever recorded by the Integrated Food Security Classification system.
The crisis is entirely man-made, and the report emphasizes the need for an immediate humanitarian ceasefire to prevent further suffering. The lives of medical workers, patients, and civilians are at risk, and hospitals should never be battlegrounds. Urgent access is required to deliver critical assistance and prevent famine.
