So.....a family massacre.....in a European gun control paradise.......we are told, after all, that Europe and their gun control laws don't let these things happen....

Austria Alpine resort massacre leaves 5 dead after man kills ex-girlfriend, her family and new boyfriend

Authorities in Austria arrested a 25-year-old man Sunday after he shot and killed his ex-girlfriend, her family, and her new boyfriend at an Alpine resort town after a dispute at a restaurant, according to officials.

Police in the resort town of Kitzbuehel, located east of Innsbruck, said the slayingshappened after the man went to his ex-girlfriend's family home in the early-morning hours on Sunday and shot the father as he opened the door.

After shooting his ex-girlfriend's brother in his bedroom, the 25-year-old man then killed his ex-girlfriend's mother, climbed over a balcony into his ex-girlfriend's room where he shot and killed the 19-year-old girl and her 24-year-old boyfriend.

"We have never had such an incredible tragedy in Kitzbuehel," Mayor Klaus Winkler told the Austrian newspaper Kurier.

Missed this. Thank you for making the argument for stronger gun control, and shooting yourself in the foot, metaphorically speaking. Austria has the laxest gun control in the EU, anyone 18 or older can buy any type of gun short of fully automatic, and only needs to register after six weeks after purchase, self defence is a valid reason for owning a gun and there are minimal background checks. Mass domestic shooting? Gosh, what a surprise! Austrians seem to be happy with a gun slaughter rate of about 300 people every year and the country is ranked 14th in gun violence in the world.

And yet gun control laws don't stop criminals in any other European country from getting fully automatic military weapons.......what is it with you gun grabbers....Europe murdered 12 million innocent men, women and children, after disarming it's citizens...and you think it can't happen again. That is foolish. Sweden, is experiencing increasing violence with guns and grenades.....France, the weapon of choice for criminals is the fully automatic military rifle....

You can pretend that gun control works...but you can't pretend forever. The demographics of Europe are not your friend....

Your OP, had nothing to do with criminals, using illegal weapons, you just demonstrated beyond doubt that lax gun control contributes to gun violence by "law abiding" gun owners. Thanks for that.

Oh, and if you really believe that civilians armed with pistols, rifles and shotguns could have stood up to regular armed forces in the 1930's and 40's, without extensive help from outside forces, you really are living in a cloud cuckoo land.
