It is comical to see UK politicians pretending to be freedom loving when their entire government apparatus engages in production of propaganda. One of the things they do is that they stifle journalists' ability to report an item which has potential to show the true image of UK.

Note: Watch the video. It is interesting.

UK authorities have banned filming at Harmondsworth immigration removal center, where hundreds of asylum seekers are on hunger strike. It is to avoid public criticism over the facility's poor conditions, a staff member said, unaware he was being recorded.

Investigative journalists from the Corporate Watch group snuck into Harmondsworth with a hidden camera and received a pretty straightforward answer from an employee on why no filming is allowed.

I watched a bit of the video , seems to me that the detained should have stayed where they belong rather than try to over run the UK Vikrant . Looks like the protesters of the treatment of the detained people are also imported people . Publicity and explanation of the crisis from the gov point of view should be broadcast far and wide in the Western world , especially in the UK .

UK claims to be a civilized country. However, it seems all that is just talk because when it comes to walking the walk, we get nothing but disgusting excuses from both UK people and their officials for gross human rights violations committed by UK as a society.

The UK was a civilized country until dishonest and self-serving politicians opened the floodgates to immigration from the the third world. Now, the scum of the world walks our streets.

Wow, the home country of George Orwell who wrote "1984" and the definitive 1966 film-version of "Fahrenheit 451" set in England has a problem with censorship? :)

Yes, they do have censorship. Just recently Professor Appleby an expert in suicide prevention was specifically told by government officials not to mention high suicide and death rate among prison and detention centers in UK in his speech or media interviews. Now the reports are coming out that many of these suicides and deaths could have been avoided if adequate attention were given to the issue. However the government of UK was more interested in preserving its image than actually tacking the problem. Censorship is product of a society which cares more about its image than fixing the problem.

The Government’s leading expert on suicide prevention pulled out of giving the Ministry of Justice a presentation on rising suicide rates in custody yesterday, claiming he had been told not to mention a possible link with falling prison staff numbers.

Sparking accusations of Government censorship, Professor Louis Appleby, who leads the National Suicide Prevention Strategy for England, had tweeted on Sunday that he had “pulled out of presentation on rising prison suicide at Ministry of Justice after being told not to refer to falling staff numbers”. Professor Appleby, a psychiatry professor at Manchester University, declined to comment further but it was understood that he was referring to a meeting of the Ministerial Board on Deaths in Custody, which was chaired yesterday by prisons Minister Andrew Selous.

Professor Appleby’s withdrawal came a day after the Equality and Human Rights Commission reported that hundreds of deaths in psychiatric units, prisons and police cells had been avoidable between 2010 and 2013.

It also comes weeks after the Ministry of Justice revealed there were 84 self-inflicted deaths in custody in England and Wales last year – the highest number since 2007.

Official statistics show that the number of prison officers in England and Wales has fallen from 45,080 in 2010 to 32,550 in June 2014, a drop of 28 per cent.

yeah , no American style freedom of speech . He11 a few years back they banned the good Geert Wilders speech and I think that Geert was showing his film ' Fitna ' . 6 or 8 years ago and details are correct I think .
