Not that this alternative is much better.Although I don't agree that Trump should be thrown off the ballot, I doubt it would make any difference at all since the states that have seriously consider this are all blue states.
As I recall, the ruling was that the state has power to disqualify any candidate from state office but not federal office. I believe the only way a candidate can be disqualified is by an act of congress.The did not rule on the merits of finding he participated in insurrection or on the arguments to that end.
Only on whether the States could disqualify him from the ballot.
Trump is not concerned with a constitutional crisis. He seeks power far beyond that granted in the constitution. He wants absolute power and he is asking SCOTUS to give it too him in agreeing with him that the president is above the law; that is, he can not be prosecuted for any acts done while president. Putin has that power and Trump thinks the US President should also. He must cringe every time he hears the United States referred to as a Democratic Republic.Not that this alternative is much better.

Trump will not have to fight his adversaries, he can just cause them to disappear like Putin does. Congressmen can be forced to pass any Bill he puts before them. Businesses can be forced to comply with his orders. And there will be nothing the legal system can do to him.Not that this alternative is much better.
