Trump's EPA Greenlights a Nasty Chemical. A Month Later, It Poisons a Bunch of Farmworkers.
"Anybody that was exposed, we encourage them to seek medical attention immediately," a California public health official stated.

On May 5, more than 50 farmworkers outside of Bakersfield, California, were exposed to a highly toxic pesticide that apparently drifted from a nearby field—at a high enough level that "twelve people reported symptoms of vomiting nausea and one person fainted," reports the television news station Kern Golden Empire. "An additional twelve workers did not show signs of any symptoms," the station reported. "However more than half of the farm workers left before medical aide arrived."

Public health authorities took the poisoning quite seriously. "Anybody that was exposed, that was here today, we encourage them to seek medical attention immediately. Don't wait. Particularly if you're suffering from any symptoms. Whether it's nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, seek medical attention immediately," Michelle Corson, public relations officer at Kern County Public Health, said in an announcement to the TV station.

Doesn't surprise me...This is what we get when we do stupid shit like Trump.
Just think of it when you eat your next mouthful of food..
One more reason to grow your own vegetables.

Much rain here in Maryland.

Tomatoes, cucumbers, squash, watermelon, peppers, strawberries, etc.

The corn is local. Same with the fruits.

Going to be giving most of it away to family friends and neighbors.
I don't see your point. The pesticide drifted from a nearby field, and the people who got sick did so from it being in the air, from what I understood.

And it probably got onto whatever was grown there as well. Of course you should wash your food, but I can't imagine people spending an extremely long time to do so, and even then some may remain in the nooks and crannies of some fruits and vegetables.

You made a blanket idiotic statement and I called you on it.

Of course pesticides can make people sick, they can kill insects easily, them being harmful to humans isn't much of a stretch.

but you made the blanket statement of chemicals proven to make people sick being "OK"

Rubbing alcohol can make people sick if ingested. Should it be "ok" or not?

Tell us all how this application was wrong? Because rubbing alcohol has to be swallowed. This chemical doesnt. So go one Mr Wizard.

Tell us all how the chemical proven poisonous isn't really poisonous after poisoning.

In this case the idiots probably didn't take into account the wind when applying the pesticide, which is why it ended up in another field and exposed the workers.

It actually is considered moderately poisonous to humans, but lethal to insects, which is why it is called a pesticide, and why we normally don't gargle with said pesticides.

So you don't know what happened you're just using "probably" as a cover for why the poison poisoned people?

I'm trying to understand your defense. It's not the poisons fault it's poison?

it's the fault of the people who probably didn't apply it properly. Pesticides are poisons by definition, but good luck doing modern large scale agriculture without them.

So did they nit apply it properly or you're just guessing for defenses? You have to pick a side...probablies don't count.

We know it affected people in another field, thus one can assume the reason is improper application on the field in question. You are supposed to check for wind direction and speed when applying stuff like this, and you are supposed to make sure the area is clear.

The false pretense of the title of the thread sure as hell does.

Don't try to shift blame for what you assume onto someone else. It's lame.

The title makes it seem that this is something brand new approved under the Trump Administration, where it has clearly been in use for freaking decades.

You may get to assume your own little reality, but that doesn't allow you to bring the rest of us along.

The title of this thread is a lie, pure and simple.
