According to a new Gallup poll, now just 40 percent of Americans approve of the job Trump is doing as president, and 55 percent disapprove. That's a three percent drop from Trump receiving a 43 percent approval rating just this past Wednesday.

To put Trump's current numbers in perspective, Barack Obama held a 64 percent approval rating, according to Gallup, in mid February of his first year as president back in 2009. George W. Bush, with a 57 percent approval, also had significantly higher numbers than Trump at this same moment in his presidency.
Poll: Trump's approval rating sinks to record-breaking low

At 40% he still has the support of his most ardent supporters, his base. If and when it drops lower than that--then they too are throwing in the towel on him.

Of course, this Russian connection has a lot to do with it, and it's definitely not going away anytime soon. Even FOX News is reporting on it. Who would have ever guessed that would have ever happened.

I remember when Hillary had a 98% chance to win according to the polls.

And what Americans think of a 4 year job in the first 30 days is irrelevant. Especially considering the hysteria the "news" pumps out hourly.

I would offer to Trump to set up a parliamentary type coalition of reps from all parties willing to collaborate with him on problem solving, sustainable reforms using mutually agreed solutions and well-researched alternatives to fix govt, and promoting a peace and justice approach to restoration and restitution owed for past abuses and wrongs at taxpayers expense.

He can't possibly represent all the diversity out there. So why not enlist the support of others from each group willing to bridge that gap where the best ideas can come together and also the conflicts can be effectively resolved?

If so many on the left feel left out of govt, with no representation, even feeling that Trump is "not their President" and Congress is going to do the opposite of their interests and beliefs, why not take this opportunity to create a venue for which people of these other parties can still have representation. We need to address media and corporate influence that is opposed as abusive by both right and left. So the problems we can solve with benefit all sides in these struggles to protect and include our interests equally. The LGBT issues ESPECIALLY require one one one moderation and mediation or people on both sides feel left out, abused and punished by harassment for their beliefs.

Offering assistance with moderation, so issues CAN be represented and included in the democratic process, is what is needed instead of this mess of bullying to dominate in the media.

Remember when Gallup had Clinton winning the White House? These sort of things tend to happen when you over sample Democrats.

Yeah, I remember that--but there's no reason to doubt this poll. You have given more than half the country someone they can actually hate--Donald Trump. More than half the country would represent over 50% or more.

When it's one lie after another, one disaster after another--his poll ratings sure as hell aren't going UP--LOL

And just looking at what's going on in Republican town halls right now--that poll is probably right.

Republican town halls are getting very, very nasty

And yet Trump is still President. Methodically gutting Obama's "legacy" and dismantling the liberal-liar press.

I can hear the liberal heads exploding from here.

In February 1952, Harry Truman had a 22% approval rating. THAT would be a historical low... wake me up when Trump gets to there.

There's every reason for you to doubt it, because it doesn't suit your political leanings.

Again here is what is going on across this nation at the Welcome Home REPUBLICAN town hall meetings.

This is Salt Lake City, Utah In this same video you will see what Tennessee is looking like. These are the red'est of the red states in the nation.

Republican congressman preemptively cancels April town hall event to avoid constituents
Hundreds Protest Trump At California Congressman's Town Hall
18,000 call in to Illinois GOP congressman's phone town hall

After 2018, you'll have to put the Republican party on an endangered species list.

th

2018, Democrats will take over both houses.

Trump and his supporters have made a lot of Republican enemies on the hill, and there is one thing that legislators will always protect FIRST. Their own seats.

Investigations and impeachment proceedings are on the way.

You seem to forgetting/ignoring the losses Liberals are taking across the country. Democrats are done because they are doubling down on the same shit that loss them the WH and if the establishment republicans don't get on board with the rest of us they are going to the unemployment line as well.

I'm confident Trump will consistently poll higher than the Media. The Media might be the most distrusted entity on earth.
