His wall idea is not fully workable.
If we just focused on THAT talking point, we could build a solution around it that would change
the whole approach to politics and media lobbying.

All we have to do is demand to build MORE than a wall but a whole business plan along the border for
* Military bases where Vets can have jobs restructuring VA facilities
and expanding on these to manage the criminal populations and trafficking concentrated on the border
* Teaching hospitals and campus facilities to provide education job training and social services LEGALLY.
* Programs where people in need are matched to businesses and charities that AGREE to sponsor and help them
so they don't fall victim to trafficking or crime trying to get out of poverty or other abusive or oppressive conditions.

The RICO laws allow for RESTITUTION from drug/human trafficking where
victims/communities can claim property and resources. So Trump is right, that resources to reinforce the border CAN come from restitution from organized crime.
We as taxpayers and victims of these crimes need to UNITE to demand that restitution as a CLASS (including poor immigrants who have been targeted and victimized with trafficking and other abuses across the border).

This can UNITE us instead of divide us, if we use it that way.

A broader development plan instead of just a wall
would actually unite workers, students, health care lobbyists,
and sanctuary city/immigrant rights activists
instead of dividing over Trump's symbolic statements
that will require a lot more to form a workable solution
that we can get behind and build as a nation.

You're overestimating the American public. Remember when Rubio asked Trump over and over for a single detail of his health plan immediatey after Trump bragged about having an amazing plan? Trump had no answer and conservatives applauded.

And as proof he was lying his ass off, after the election he made the stunning admission that "nobody could have known how complicated healthcare is," because that was the first moment he'd ever thought about it.
